So upset
Since this is my first month of BCP, I really think I'm "late" with AF because I'm irregular - not because I'm PG. I got my hopes up for nothing. I tested again today, and BFN. Now I have to play the waiting game and see when AF does show up.
Is it going to be hard for me to conceive with irregular cycles? I feel so discouraged....

Re: So upset
1: It's only month number 1 2: It takes a while for your body to regulate, even ovulate 3: None of that makes the waiting any easier!
Keep your hopes up, but at the same time prepare yourself for the dreaded BFN. Every test I take, I prepare for the BFN, so I know when I finally get the BFP I will be SO HAPPY! There are many women in this world who either can't have kids or have been waiting for a long time. You will get your little blessing when the time is right, when your body is healthy enough, when the moment is perfect. Being a parent is 89% Patience, trust me, I know! This is just practice for the real thing. Good Luck and and for you!

Re: So upset
Women’s cycles range from 21 to 40 days or more, with an average of around 28 days. Not everyone is going to be a classic textbook case with a 28 day cycle ovulating on day 14. The length of a woman’s cycle may change a little or a lot from month to month. I have had cycles as long as 34 days and as short as 26. I have ovulated as early as day 12 and as late as day 17. Give your body a chance to catch up and try not to convince yourself that you have reproductive issues with only one month off the pill. I know it is easier said than done and hard not to obsess about, but you may just need a little time.

Re: So upset
Thank you so much for your replies. You are absolutely correct. I'm sorry if I sounded a bit pathetic
I think the most annoying part is not knowing EXACTLY what's going on with my body - When I was on the pill I was so regular that I never had to question anything. The whole "not knowing" is what's really bothering me....

Re: So upset
You don't sound pathetic, you sound anxious. We have all been there and in some respects, are still there. Keep in mind that being on the pill masks what your "regular" cycles would be by forced regulation with hormones. Your TRUE cycle may actually be a few days longer or shorter than it was when you were on the pill and you would never know. I also learned that my cycles after the pill were nothing like they were before the pill. I am 15 years older and now I am finally within a regular range whereas when I was 21 or 22, I had a much longer cycle.
