So torn, need advice

Hi Ladies,

I am hoping for some advice.

DH and I are supposed to go away next week, its a company paid sales trip, he makes it pretty much every year but suddenly when we are supposed to leave in a few days I am feeling like I may not want to go.

I am prego, feel so fat and not comfortabelt in my own skin, cant drink and most times these things are party fests, lots of skinny people at the pool hanging out LOL

Most poeple wont even know I am prego and jsut think I am fat, should I even go

Any advice would be great, I know most of these things are that my hormones are out of whack and my own insecurities but I'm not just sure if I am up for laying in the hot sun and I don't want to be the Debbiw Downer either.

I would still go as long as you're feeling up to it physically. Nobody is going to think you're fat and if they do- f them. Are there other things you can do rather than lay out in the sun day all day and drink?

I think if you don't go, you're going to regret it. If you've gone in the past and generally have had a great time why not. You don't need to drink to have fun anyway.

EckoRed..you are SOOO right, I know that if I do not go I will feel so mad at myself that I didnt go and Dh goes alone. I know the minute DH leaves and I will say to myself I should have gone.
The dr. sai dI am perfectly healthy and fine to go.

I can definately relax in the shade, read a book and at the same time I think the time away may be good for me.

GO!

You should take any and every opportunity to have some fun with DH and time away.

All of the insecurities you are feeling are normal, but in the end, you can still have a great time without all the booze and what not.

Do his work colleagues not know you are preggo? This could be a perfect opportunity to let them know and say "Hey I need to just take it easy this time." Let your DH know that you want this to be about relaxation vs. partying.

Who cares about the other people around the pool -- just think of how nice it will be to get away!

No co workers dont know I am prego, its still a lil too early to tell them but DH even said to me, we can make this relaxing and do our own thing and you are right, I need the time away to relax, sit on my arse and read a book or smutty magazine! LOL

its just one of those things, I went shopping for some clothes and nothing fits right, as women we have all been through it but who cares what people think right?

Go, Go, GO!

It's a great opportunity to get away before the baby arrives. This time next year you will have your hands full and may not be able to take the trip.

I skipped a lot of events, trips and stuff while I was pregnant with #1 because I felt like I looked disgusting and I totally regret it not going to a all those things.

When you are in that "in-between" phase (where normal clothes don't fit but maternity feels too frumpy) it can be hard. I definitely know what you mean in that aspect. I'm the type that loves to shop for new clothes before a vacation and I bet that brought you down a bit.

But I would just get some cover-ups for the pool/beach (I assume it's somewhere warm by the mention of pool) -- and spend as much time there as possible being lazy.

Then just be naked in the hotel room with DH.

Go! Relax in the sun, it beats the cold rain in NY. Even if you are just going to sit by a pool and to dinner every night it's far better than hanging out alone up here.

I say GO! You will be so happy once you get away from the cold weather and can relax -- put your feet up, grab a good book and read... you don't have to party

It is a good time for you and DH to get away (hey it's paid for right?!) and not have to worry about anything for a few days.

Besides I bet you look better than most the people there

Sometimes a little sun can do wonders for your mood

Yup you are right MrsPJB I went shopping last weekend and trying things on in the dressing room was so depressing!
I bought a few cute cotton dresses at the Loft but I felt like a friggin whale!

It is in Arizona, so warm and I figure I will just use bathing suits and coverups that I have, no sense in spending money on new bathing suits.

I say go! There is nothing to put you in a good mood like some sun, a pool and a mocktail!

If you don't go, you will probably be really pissy about it when you think of DH living it up in the nice weather.

I felt the same way with our mini-moon that we had planned. But I went anyway and so glad I did because it was so nice for the two of us to just get away and enjoy ourselves.
Relax by the pool, etc.

I agree with the other girls...you should totally go and enjoy the time away with DH for free!

And don't worry about what you look like...you think you look worse than you actually do, I promise

Thanks to all of your great advice and thoughts I have decided to go away!
It will be good for me and DH and I could really use some time away from work!
