Good LORD. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Who IS this child??? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I don't even recognize her this last week. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thinking SHE makes the rules....this morning, telling us what order to open the blinds in and then FREAKING when we tell her we make the rules, not her. Screaming more than I've ever heard in my life....demanding this, demanding that. Thankfully I've learned to tune out the screaming/foaming at the mouth while she's melting down, we completely ignore her after she's been reprimanded until she calms down and apologizes. Telling us "I'll apologize when you take me out to the kitchen"....she's just trying to exert control in any ridiculous way possible.

Oh.My.Gosh Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

And of course, STILL sleeping like a nightmare....she's worse than a freaking newborn at this point-- last night she was up FIVE times Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Tell me it goes by fast, please Chat Icon Chat Icon

Lily has been starting this on and off as well. I just keep telling myself how lucky we are that we almost got through the entire age of 2 without it!!

UGH maybe it's in the air...

After I bought DS a special treat at the grocery store last night, I buckled him in his car seat and he ordered me to "open this" meaning the bag of lollipops. Then I said, "do you want me to open one lollipop for you?" and he ordered me to "just close the door!". I repeated my question and he yelled at me again to "just close the door!" The rest of the night was tantrum after tantrum. I never knew they could talk back like that at 2.5 Chat Icon

I am right there with you-DD goes from angel to devil in a moment. She flipped out because I put the baby in the car first this morning (as I do every morning), "IIIIIIII go first!!!!!!!!! I go first! Get out baby!"Chat Icon

Yup times TWO!!

But thankfully, they usually coordinate their tantrums, not simultaneously, but one continuous stream of meltdown demonic behaviorChat Icon Chat Icon

Usually, late afternoon when I'm exhausted from work and trying to cook dinner.

My favorite is when my son is doing his best impression of mini-***** and my DD looks at me, bats her eyelashes and says, "He's being bad mommy, but I'm gooooooooood." Chat Icon Sure, until it's her turn.

Oh, and let's not forget the "schizo/multiple personality/I need to change my mind every nano-second" moments.

DD started at 18 months and now at 26 months it is gotten progressively worse. It doesn't look like there is an end in sight.Chat Icon

I wish I could tell you it goes by fast, but...Marron is almost 4 and is still a demon at times. She was the most perfect child until she turned 3. And then it was almost as if a switch turned on and all H E L L broke loose. It did coincide with the birth of our second baby so I don't know if it had anything to do with that, but I'm still hoping it gets better soon!! Last week I just laid in bed in the afternoon and cried because I just couldn't take fighting with her all day every day.

I will keep hoping YOUR time is short!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

DS started throwing BIG tantrums around 18 months, and they are somewhat less frequent now that he has more words to communicate, but OMG are they intense these days! Usually about bedtime or coming back in the house during a nice day.

And he is a bossy little thing with DH and I--he tells us where to sit, HOW to sit, what clothing he will wear (mostly sloppy stuff), etc.

Good luck--it's mostly a fun age IMO and still beats the newborn days by far, though maddening at times.
