So i'm really liking jury duty....
I'm very intrigued with the case and as a good citizen I am listening carefully to all evidence and testimonies and it is actually not that bad.
I went in at 10 and just came home at 130pm
But, there are some jurors who are so rude and whisper and tend to nod out. I feel embarrassed being in the same jury with them!!!

I actually picked up St John's law scool application on Friday. I would still need to take my LSATs though.
But, I just graduated and originally was planning on starting my Masters part time next year for finance. So I'm going to try the finance world out for a ywar and if I don;t like it, I might do Law School then.
Will I ever be done with school

Just wanted to comment that i'm also sitting in on a case. I was happy when I was told to come in at 2, and was home by 4:30 today.

I loved jury duty too...I always laugh because soo many people dread it and do everything possible to get out of it, but I find it fascinating. I was on a case last year for an assault. I loved going in listening to all the legal jargon, watching the judge and lawyers. I actually got worried, because the judge tells ya at the end of each day not to go to the scene of where the incident occured and not to contact the people etc. and I was driving to court and was waiting at a light and looked to my left and it was the building that the assault occured at that I was not supposed to go near. It was also cool getting a free lunch on the county. After the trial we got to meet the judge and she thanked us and then the lawyers. The DA chick was so nice, thanked us and asked us for advice on her case, how she did, what we would have changed because it was her very first case, and she won. I had a great experience!!! Can't wait to go back. They should let people volunteer, I'd make it my new career. I even though of going to law school, but realized I needed to pay of all my other loans before I'd even consider it.

DH was on jury duty during the fall and loved it. He was home early and was able to sit on an intersting case.

A couple of schools (Touro and Hofstra) offer combined law and masters in business administration degrees. You can get both at the same time and some classes will cross count for the other degree. You might want to look into it.

I found jury duty interesting, but I was ready to scream during diliberation. It is amazing how people pay so little attention. It also was a heavy experiene hearing the guilty verdict read and hearing his family completely lose it.

That's great Jess, way too many people shirk their responisbilities and try to get out of jury duty. I would love to get called. I was once but didn't get picked...

I was called in November, but I didnt get placed on a case. I sat in that freakin auditorium for hours when they finally called me into a room with like 15 other and dismissed us! Would have been nice to either go on a case or dismiss us early instead of sittin there all day

I was on a case about 3 years ago. At first I was mad I got picked, then, as the case went on it was interesting. I loved those early days too

This was the part I was dreading. Our case was settled just before we were charged and would have had to start deliberations and boy was I glad! Even though we weren't supposed to discuss the case, a few jurors made comments during breaks that made me think it would be a long process. Also, after the case was over, we were asked how we would have voted and it was amazing to me how 14 people can sit and listen to exactly the same testimony and have completely different opinions on what really happened and whether the person involved was guilty or innocent.

This is so great to read. I am a trial attorney (civil work) and most cases settle. But my favorite part of my job is doing trials- especially selecting a jury.
