So I think I might be losing this pregnancy
I had a terrible dream last night. I woke up thinking it was all real. I had an extra FRER test, so I decided to take it.
Well...
Here is the thing... Usually if you are not preg the line all the way to the right lights up (ref line)....if you are the left line lights up too...
This morning the left line (preg) line was dark, the right line was barely visible.
I compared it to my 9dpo test, my ref line is the darker line, and my preg line is med colored...
Today is the complete opposite..
Does the line matter?????
I did run to CVS and bought an EPT digital which came up PREGNANT immediately...
But I cant help but assume, that Im losing this baby...
I dont go to the Dr next week, so the next couple of days is going to be tourture.

I'm so sorry you feel this way!
All I know is this: a line is a line, until you feel or see otherwise - try to relax and wait for that doctor appointment. If I *really* listened to all of my dreams, I would have been committed years ago (lol).
Try to destress and stop taking the tests from now until the doc appt. You'll only drive yourself nuts.

I'm so sorry about your bad dream!! That's awful, but probably all it was...just a dream.
A line is a line and if the digital says you're pregnant...you are!
Just try to be calm until your doctors appt...

Here is the thing...
This morning.. there was only 1 line...
as in- not pregnant.
The ref line wasnt "lit"
The one line was the preg. line.
But still 1 line = not preg
2 lines= preg.
KWIm?

Don't freak out about it- I read something about this a few weeks ago.
I think it's actually a GOOD sign that the control line is lighter- something about the test line pulling all the dye b/c it is so dark (meaning your HcG is high).
Try not to worry!

Aww please don't freak- easier said then done I know. Dreams can be so scary especially when they seem so real. I always found the control lines to vary on my frer tests. Sometimes the test line was darker and sometimes vice versa. I think the fact that the test line came up dark and strong is a good thing. And it is tougher to get a positive on a digital so that is also good!
Maybe call the doc to see if they will do a blood test. If the OB won't see you try calling your regular doctor - this is who confirmed my pregnancy for me. Sending you hugs!

This makes it sound like the tests are defective to me. The reference line is a control line to show you that the test is working properly, I would say if it does not react than the tests may be defective.
The beginning of a PG is so hard, you don't really feel PG so you worry alot, try to be calm, if the digital says you are PG you probably are; they require more hormone than the line tests to show a positive. If you aren't experiencing bright red bleeding with bad cramping everything is probably just as it should be  You can call your DR and see if he/she will push up your appt just to ease you mind.

Digital still says PREGNANT (w/in seconds)
OK here is the best way I can explain it...
So below my test 9dpo
See how it says:
not preg- and the 1 line is all the way to the right..
Preg- 2 lines- the right line (ref) line AND the left line.
Today JUST the left line (preg) line lit up- no ref line..(well it was so faint you could barely see it)
Bottom line- it was only 1 line..

Def. could be defective, but no matter how much I tell myself that, I still have that 1 line test and my horrible dream imprinted in my mind.
If I call the Dr and get my apt moved up, it will prob be too early to see anything on a sono anyway- so I dont think it will make me feel any better.
I feel too good- I barely had any symptoms with DC#1, and this preg is even easier (didnt even think it was possible) which in turn has scared me even more.

to go from seeing 2 lines to seeing 1 line... is really scary..

I know that it is scary but I would be much more concerned if the right hand side only was lit. The left line would not just randomly light up if there wasn't hormone detected. I would get some more tests bc as Ninalemon said maybe it was defective.

All of those tests have a different amount of dye on them-- I would not worry yourself about it. the digitals, which detect a higher level of hcg came up positive-- don't stress!

There is only a limited amount of dye for the test. The dye is "grabbed" by the HCG hormone, so the higher teh levels of the hormone (Further along in pregnancy) the more dye its going to grab. Since the urine passes over teh test line first, and your HCG was really high all the dye was grabbed onto the first line and nothing was available for the second one.
I did a test when I was like 6 or 7 weeks along and only the "test" line had dye on it, nice and dark.
I am 21 weeks PG..................

Yes, but it is the LEFT line that tests the pregnancy hormone. The right line pretty much means nothing, except that the test is functional.
I found this on the first response website
Invalid: No visible band at all. The control band will not appear if an insufficient volume of specimen is added into the test kit. Proper procedures may not have been followed in performing the test. Repeat with a new test kit. Please consult above instructions and follow precisely.
Also.. there should be a number on the box.. I seriously think it is totally fine, but call if you are freaking out that much

There is no set rule which is the test line, and which is the ref line... KWIM???
After taking 2 other test and getting a strong + I do feel a bit more hopeful.
But between not feeling anything at all, this terrible nightmare, and this questionable test; I still have that worry in the back of my head...KWIM?
Maybe Ill call, cant hurt.

yes, this is true. You are just very pregnant now so all your hormones are making the first line the darkest. Not to worry.

yes, this is true. You are just very pregnant now so all your hormones are making the first line the darkest. Not to worry.
I am only 4 days past my missed period.
Had I not tested at 9dpo- I wouldve taken my 1 line as a neg.
