So disgusted!
I am so disgusted with the whole house buying proccess and the shadiness of all involved.
After FOUR loooong weeks of negotiations and time spent researching the house the deal was called off.
And the sad part is I could accept it if I thought the owners made the decision. But I think our agent and their agent are shady and ruined the deal for all involved.
I am absolutely disgusted.

I was just like you when i was in the process of buying our house, but more when i was selling my condo. And my BIL was my REA. The whole process is so shady. But - in the end, it will be worth it. Hang in there and good luck!

It can definitely be very frustrating.. we had a deal fall through a couple of weeks ago. But now we are optomistic about finding an even better house, so don't let it get you down!

Thanks everyone. I truly feel like the agents didn't work on either behalf (seller or us) ... she kept saying "oh the owner won't do this", "oh the owner wouldn't like that" and we kept telling her "well ask them and see" and the owner would inevitably go along with what we requested. And last night my DH finally went off on our agent (after she was trying to convince us to by house 'as is') and suddenly the deal is off. She kept saying "sellers agent" said "this" or "that" and we kept asking "did the owner say that?" and she would say "no, but ..." and we would say "well ask the seller. It is their house. They want to sell, we want to buy. We don't really care how the sellers agent feels."
GRRRR I AM SOOO MAD.

the whole process stinks. you will be so happy once its overwith. most agents (not all, but id say most) are so shady and only in it for their commission.

This just happened to us today. Seller decided he thinks he can get more for the house, so after paying for an inspection and actually signing the contract (seller didn't sign), the deal has fallen through.

Owner lives in Florida. I would go direct to the sellers agent but he's a j-off too.

I had such a problem with our realtor that I called off the deal to buy our house. The homeowner called us directly and after talking we found out that the agent lied to both of us repeatedly. He went to the agent and freaked out. She gave up some of her commission and they passed the savings on to us. It was such a headache, but we were really glad we spoke directly to the homeowners. It was proof how shady they are.
One example: We made an offer. The agent went back to the owners and told them we needed an answer right away while their daughter was in the hospital getting an appendix removed. We actually told her we were in no rush, that we weren't going anywhere and we would wait until their daughter was better. The owners thought we were jerks until we spoke to each other. Turns out the agent was the Jerk. If I ever sell my home it will be For Sale by Owner!

I know how you feel. Buying a house is stressful and mentally and emotionally draining. Everything is so expensive and people are so unwilling to negotiate b/c everyone thinks their house is worth a million bucks. It takes time and afterwards you'll be thankful you took your time b/c buying a house is a huge $$$$$ commitment.
