Re: So disappointed with Old Navy

Yeah, Dh hates their polos and only buys Gap or AEagle polos now;
I dont buy much unless its just knock around T's;

i only buy clothes for DS there b/c he's 17mo and will out grow it in no time. so its cheap enough to buy his stuff there.

their sweaters dont wash well, and i agree the jeans stretch and start falling down.

I have seen such a decline in ON..sometimes I wonder what the hell they are thinking when they design things.

I agree! I actually would rather just shop at the Gap Outlet. It has similiar prices to ON and IMO a much better selection.

ITA!

I work right down the street from their store on 34th Street in the city. I used to go and walk around in there on my lunch break but I've been so disappointed with their clothing quality of late, I don't even bother anymore.

Also, in that particular 34th street store, the customer service is disgusting. You ask for help and they look at you like you are inconveniencing them. Chat Icon

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy

I'll join the bandwagon.

For the past couple years everytime I walked in there, I came out empty handed.

I originally thought that it was the fault of the buyers in my specific Old Navy store in CT, but I see that it is consistently poor at all Old Navys in the tri state area.

And dont get me started on their stupid talking mannequin commercials. They are painful.

They need a marketing and designing revamp.

They need to speak to the peple at Target.

I'd much rather drop money there than Old Navy.

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy

I go there in the summer for their long tanks...and year round for my daughter.

Everything else is poorly constructed - I can try on the same size shorts, different colors, one will fit and one will fall off of me.

But for kids clothes - I love them.

I guess i'm in the minority.. i still love ON and find tons of stuff there all the time

i don't buy jeans there (mainly because i don't like the fabric and the sizing is never right for my body) but i have a tons of tanks/tshirts, cute summer tops, skirts, loungey type stuff from there that always last me

i go in there expecting to buy cheap cute stuff that lasts me a season or two, and that's what i get.
I don't go in with the same expectation for clothes i get at other stores
maybe that's why it works for me?

I don't care for ON anymore either. 10 years ago, I used to shop there all the time. Now, I tend to regret my purchases when my shirts are all stretched out after the first washing.

I know! I haven't shopped there in months because their shirts shrink or rip so fast! It's ashame because that was a good place to get inexpensive stuff to hang around the house or even run to stores in!

I don't think that's my issue. I go in there looking for cheap stuff too but I'm not going to buy a shirt that isn't really all that cheap and is so poorly made that the hem is uneven and the fabric appears to have been cut on the bias so that it stretches diagonally across my body instead of falling straight down Chat Icon

I'm also a fairly normal size - I don't think I should have to try on a 4, 6, 8 and 10 just to find something that fits when I KNOW I am a size 6 everywhere else.

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy

I agree! I occasionally find something there for myself. I'm not even crazy about what Gap has had in stores lately. The construction of their clothes is better but the material is paper thin.

I've been heading back to ATL. Especially on days like today when they have 40% off. I would rather pay a little more for clothes that will last me longer.

That ALWAYS drove me crazy at ON. And the line was always so long, so I'd brign in armlaads of stuff , b/c I needed to try on 3 of each thing.

I go to ATL all the time, b/c it is right by my office, but I find a lot of their stuff doesn't last either. I bought several short sleeve knits last year the either got pilly, or ripped at the seams.
