so confused/conflicted
i posted a couple of weeks ago about having lots of mid-cycle bleeding. after having an early MC in october, irregularities in my cycle, and never a positive on the OPK, my dr. brought me in for a CD21 progesterone test. i heard from him yesterday and he said it was very low. he said that anovulatory bleeding is usually even more erratic than mine, but that the progesterone would be higher if i were ovulating. however, i had taken a HPT on CD9 because the cramps i felt reminded me of the MC ( i was still testing positive on the HPT during the previous MC), and i got a very faint positive, so i'm not sure how that would affect this cycle.
now he wants to bring me in for a consult to talk about clomid. i'm nervous about this. can anyone offer insight or advice? it's all a little scary.

Re: so confused/conflicted
I've taken a few cycles of Clomid and I've had no side effects or problems and it's been working. I've had to try different doses and currently I am on 200mg. but I've ovulated all year long and I've gotten pregnant twice although one was a miscarriage and the other was a chemical.
I don't know if you're seeing an RE in which case they will know exactly how to proceed but if you're with a regular OB/GYN make sure they monitor you VERY closely on the Clomid. You need to be checked on CD3-5 as well as later in your cycle. That along with blood work will let them know if you're responding to the Clomid and if you're lining is too thin or your ovaries are being hyperstimulated.
Just as an aside, I recommend taking the Clomid at night right before bed. It helps alleviate or eliminate the side effects. Some people complain of moodiness, nausea, blurred vision, etc. but I always take mine before bed (and I take 4 pills which is a lot) and I've never had any problems with it.
Good luck!!! And don't worry, as long as you're under your doctor's care and you're being monitored you will be fine.
