so confused!

Is it possible to get 2 positive opks in one month? I used the cvs brand. The first one about 10 days ago was definately positive (with absolutely no EWCM). Then I had EWCM over this past weekend and I tested today and it was very close to positive!

What the heck is going on with my body?

sorry just need to vent! I cant wait to my appt with Dr Braverman to figure things out!

Is the CVS brand digital or do you have to read the two lines? If it is the one with the 2 lines, just make sure that the testing line is darker, if not equivalent, to the control.
I personally never ovulated twice in a month where there's a 10 days gap in between.

Re: so confused!

Do you have PCOS? This happened to me too and it's actually what sent me to an RE becuase I was so confused and frustrated after TTC for almost a year! Turns out I have PCOS and I was told not to "trust" the OPK because my FSH levels were off. Those little buggers lied to me Chat Icon

Hvae you been through the gamut of tests yet? PCOS might be a possibility.

Also, women with PCOS get EWCM at random times during their cycles, so all in all, it's best to monitored for ovulation!

Hang in there!

Re: so confused!

Thanks so much for your reply. I am not diagnosed with PCOS as of yet. my reg ob did blood work on day 21 which showed i didnt ovulate yet which wasn't a surpise to me. After talking to all of the ladies on here I decided to go right to an RE.

If you don't mind me asking are there any symptoms for PCOS? So far my only "issues" that I know of are irregular/long cycles, late ovulation (or maybe absent?) and spotting midcycle that can last anywhere from 2 days to a week.

Thanks so much!

Re: so confused!

Googled it for ya

The principal signs and symptoms of PCOS are related to menstrual disturbances and elevated levels of male hormones (androgens). Menstrual disturbances can include delay of normal menstruation (primary amenorrhea), the presence of fewer than normal menstrual periods (oligomenorrhea), or the absence of menstruation for more than three months (secondary amenorrhea). Menstrual cycles may not be associated with ovulation (anovulatory cycles) and may result in heavy bleeding.

Symptoms related to elevated androgen levels include acne, excess hair growth on the body (hirsutism), and male-pattern hair loss.

Other signs and symptoms of PCOS include:

obesity and weight gain,
elevated insulin levels and insulin resistance
oily skin,
dandruff,
infertility,
skin discolorations,
high cholesterol levels,
elevated blood pressure, and
multiple, small cysts in the ovaries.
Any of the above symptoms and signs may be absent in PCOS, with the exception of irregular or no menstrual periods. All women with PCOS will have irregular or no menstrual periods. Women who have PCOS do not regularly ovulate; that is, they do not release an egg every month. This is why they do not have regular periods and typically have difficulty conceiving.

With my PCOS I am not insulin resistant and when i was with an ob/gyn the bloodwork they did they actually told me I didnt have PCOS. It took an RE who did more invasive bloodwork and internal sono's to realize that is what I had
