So annoying - sorry, my first TTC vent!
I was on the Pill for over 10 years. The whole time, I didn't care about babies or TTC, not even a little. Well, shortly after my 31st birthday I stopped the Pill to "get to know my body" for a while. Well, within about 2 weeks, it was like my mothering instinct turned on. Turns out that the Pill was suppressing whatever chemical is responsible for me feeling that whole biological-clock thing. Because now I'm baby-crazy... and now that I want a baby more than anything, my periods are over 50 days apart and I'm not ovulating. And I'm hearing that it might take months to a year. A YEAR? Every day that AF doesn't show her head (so that I know things are moving down there) it drives me crazy. And now that I want this one thing, I can't have it, because of the very thing that had kept me from wanting it until now.
Sorry for the vent. I know there are bigger problems out there. But I'm on CD 53 and I just feel like I'm broken.

 Did you have any AF issues before going on the pill?
I did.. and when I went off the pill 10 years later my problems came right back

Yes, before I went on the Pill my periods were also about 2-3 months apart.
But back then - in high school - it felt like a blessing. I wouldn't get my period for a whole summer! I loved it - I could go to the beach every day, no worries. It feels like this is payback.

so sorry you are going through this. I was never on the pill and my cycles have always been irregular but i didn't care that much because we weren't even thinking about babies. Now that we are trying I feel exactly the same way. I'm on CD 39 and i am hoping that I will ovulate soon. It's so frustrating waiting for my temp to rise or to get a  . Lots of hugs

Thank you!!!  I know I will be congratulating you too soon! 
As for me.. I found out I wasn't ovulating because I started temping. That, combined with my diagnosis of PCOS 10 years ago made me see an RE on the sooner side.
Good luck!! My advice is, if you suspect a problem, don't just wait around for it to resolve itself!! If you are concerned, I would call your gyn and ask what he/she thinks you should do!

I totally understand you pain... I've been off the pill since August last year.. I have only had one 31CD right after provera took affect. I feel AF now and Im 34CD and not happy about it...
I'm going to continue to wait it out until I get normal again... I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping its soon within the next 2-3 months.. Argggg

So it's true - it'll be about a year before you're back to "normal"? Good luck and to you while you wait it out!
Doctors should really mention this to you when you go for your 6 month pill-checks. Especially once you hit 30. I would have stopped the Pill so much sooner if I'd known.

I totally feel your pain
After I got off the pill, my cycles got longer and longer and I wanted to get preggo more and more. It was horrible watching other girls ovulate 2 times while I was still on my 1st cycle
We decided to go to an RE after trying for 6 months and we are now on month #8 and hoping to have a BFP. They 1st put me on clomid and I am now on femara....both of this medications were able to shorten my cycle by A LOT! I was O'ing around 26-30 and this cycle I was able to O on my own on cd 15. I hope this cycle is the one
Good luck with everything and I hope your stay here is short!!! TTC is such an emotional rollercoaster, but you'll be okay because there are so many girls on here who are going through the same thing and others who offer good advice...so you're not alone

When I got off the pill it took a few months (under 6) to get back to normal. Don't worry! Hopefully you will get there soon!

A friend of mine had this same exact problem. She went to acupuncture. The combination of that and the chinese herbs she was given worked to regulate her cycle and get her ovulating again. She is now a mommy to a 6 month old baby

I definitely had a cycle (or lack of cycle) very similar to yours.
On the month I got PG, I conceived on day 43. I had no idea -- on day 37 I had a BFN and on day 54 I totally thought AF was starting (which was kinda one of my "normal" cycles... 54 days, 85 days, or 34 days, it always seemed, although impossible to calculate).
I know it's tough, but try not to give up hope. I went off the pill 2 years ago after 11 years of being on it and my cycle never really regulated. What you have going for you is that you're still pretty young (relatively compared to a lot of women TTC) and you know your goals (and have a partner who is on the same page as you).
The first two months this year I tried to calculate everything and plan and although my cycle was 34 days, all we had were BFNs. The month after I stopped trying to figure it all out is the month it happened.

I was on the pill for about 13 years and this is my first month off. I'm really nervous too that AF won't show up for awhile. I honestly can't even remember if my cycles were regular or not before going on BCP.

I know! I was irregular but my doctor (regular doc, not a gyn) just told me that I was young and my periods would even out when I got older. And then I went on the Pill when I was 18 so there was no way to tell if my body would have ovulated / menstruated normally.
Every GYN I've had (4 or 5) has asked me how my cycles are and when I tell them, "28 days on the Pill, 3 months or so when I'm not on it" they have all shrugged and said something like, "ok, whatever, you're on the Pill so it doesn't matter."
I WISH even one of them would have encouraged me to take a break from it or do bloodwork or something so I'd have known before the age of 31 if I have any issues - thyroid, PCOS, all these things that can cause irregular periods. Who knows?
