So annoyed - she is hacking up a lung!
The woman that sits directly opposite me (within spitting distance) is horribly sick. She was sick on friday and has taken off for the past 2 days thank god, but she is back today and is coughing and sneezing - her nose is cut up from blowing it! I almost want to go out and get one of those dust masks from home depot! What is wrong with people - why can't they just stay home when they are sick! OK - vent over.

ugh! I'm a complete germaphobe and this would push me over the edge. I'm 100x worse now that I'm pregnant and I don't want anyone who is sick near me. Kinda tough when you're a teacher!
Can you move your spot temporarily for today? I would be ballsy and tell her to stay home until she's better lol...

Maybe she doesn't have any sick time left? Get yourself a can of lysol and spray everything down every time she leaves her desk -

better yet, do it when she's AROUND so she gets the hint. I'd seriously be packing lysol, antibact lotion, and wipes for my desk.

That would really annoy me too.
Unfortunately, people feel like they are looked down upon when they take a sick day.
Perhaps you can talk to your boss/HR and see if YOU can work from home-- to avoid the germs. Or-- they can ask her to go home as well.

thankfully she is up and down a lot, so she doesn't just sit there all day, but there is not much i can do, but hold my breathe and hope i don't catch it!

Is she at least being considerate and covering her mouth/nose when she coughs/sneezes? If so, there's really nothing you can do and although it's annoying and no one wants to catch someone else's cold - short of locking yourself in your own house, you can't avoid all germs ........buy yourself some lysol and a bottle of rubbing alcohol - try to keep your own work area as clean and sterile as possible ..........But don't do it in FRONT of her !! that's just mean !!
Are we allowed to take that airborne stuff? That might help you avoid her cold too ..........

ugh i'm so sorry! my room/office mate had a headcold last week and i wanted to SHOOT myself (if not her!) she was blowing her nose every five minutes and i was going insane!! hopefully your neighbor will feel better soon and next time stay HOME!

I was dealing with this last week, I'm like what is wrong with people, do they NOT think!!!!!!!
I like the idea about the masks from home depot, maybe they will get the idea then

I feel your pain!! I'm a teacher and I am so sick of parents sending in their sick children. Thanks to them I have been sick since Sunday with a fever, aches, hot/cold flashes and a horrible cold/cough. I wnet to the doctor yesterday and turns out i have a sinus infection. They put me on the Z-Pack so even though I sound/look horrible i will be returning to school tomorrow not contagious thanks to the meds!
Get yourself some lysol and make sure to wash your hands religiously!

UGGGH, tell me about it! I work with young kids and they are constantly sick. All the adults around me are sick too. I sat in a meeting the other day and everyone at the table was hacking like crazy. I am sure it will be my turn soon  .
