Snickers Update
Hi all. I thought I would just give you an update on Snickers, our newly adopted dog. I figured this board gets more traffic then pets, plus this is the board MrsERod orignially posted on. Anyway, he is doing really great! He has adjusted so well to our family and he has only been here a week. He is so well trained and behaved. We love him so much already! I can't believe how lucky we are to have gotten such a great dog. The only problem we have come across is that my two year old son seems to be a bit allergic to him But we are keeping an eye on it and hoping it will subside as time goes on. My dh and I both grew up with dogs and know how great it is to have one in the family. We are hoping that the allergies go away on their own, but we may try medication in a couple of weeks if they don't. We did have Snickers groomed and bathed yesterday, which seemed to also help. If anyone has any advice on pet allergies please feel free to share. I am attaching some pics of my son and snickers! Image Attachment(s):

I am so glad you are having fun with your new family member Hopefully the allergies will subside on their own- its allergy season anyway- maybe that is the cause

Thanks! I am having trouble posting pics. Do you know what size they need to be or how to post them? When I do post they are too small. And if I make them bigger it won't attach.

just upload them into a photo album on here, and it will automatically size it...you can then right click the pic from the photo album and save it on your hard drive, to then post it on the thread...

so cute the pictures!! I was the same way when I got my pug I was starting to get allergies from him but over time they went away!! Try to brush him outside instead of in.
Talk to your doctor about it. But with anything it will take sometime just try to hang in there snickers looks so happy with your son.

He's adorable! I'm so happy to hear that everyone is doing well. I hope that your son is just having some seasonal allegeries, like me, and it's not the dog.

I just saw this post- what a beautiful dog!
When we adopted our second dog my allergies became very bad and I was devastated because I was scared we would have to bring her back to the shelter. We shaved her (poor thing!), kept her out of the bedroom and got an air purifier that we leave running all day. My allergies got MUCH better! Now her fur has grown back and I'm still doing okay.
