Small baby room with no closet?

Does anyone have a situation like this? The baby's room is on the small side and unfortunately does not have a closet. A crib, dresser and room for toys and such will fit perfectly but I am afraid if I try to fit an armoire in here it will be way too cramped! We have an armoire in our bedroom that we use for DHs clothes but I am sure with some re-organization we can move his stuff into the main closet and keep baby's must hang clothes in there so maybe it's not necessary to get one? How much clothing really HAS to be hung for a baby anyways? We are having a boy so we don't have to worry about hanging all the dresses and whatnot and I am hoping we will move out of here in the next two years so hopefully he will eventually upgrade to a room with a closet. Sorry for just rambling on and on but I really can't seem to wrap my head around how I will set this room up! I blame pregnancy brain!

I would stick with a dresser that is the right height to use as a changing table. And then store clothes until they are the appropriate size.

DS is 2 and the amount of clothes that I really NEED to hang is minimal. I think you will be fine with a dresser and using DH's armoire for the necessities.

Thanks girls! I figured I wouldn't NEED the armoire for right now but I just wanted to make sure. I already feel better about planning the room out now that it wont be as cramped!

Our nursery is 9x9 with no closet. We have a crib, a changing table/dresser, a tall dresser, and an actual changing table. It's tight but looks nice. We had a DD and never hung her stuff up until she went into her big girl room this spring. Now with DS on the way we won't have to worry about hanging things us. If we have holiday outfits and what not we'll just put them in DD's closet. Honestly you don't need the room for anything mor ethen sleeping/changing/storing clothing. My DD never played in the nursery, and is just now into playing in her room and even with how small the nursery is we could have her in there still. Don't worry it'll all work out!

I have a closet for DS now, but lived in an apartment till he was 15 months old. His room was super small and had no closet. We where able to get a tall dresser, changing table/dresser and crib in the room. I really never had to hang anything. I always had a pretty decent amount of clothes for DS and clothing wise it only took up about three draws. One for shirts, one for pants, one for P.J.s and socks. I also had a draw with extra sheets, blankets, burp clothes and bibs. I did hang a few things, but I just hung them up in my room.

Our rooms are on the second floor of a cape. Dh grew up in this house and so when i moved in i had almos no closet space. Now that we got the second room for DS nursery im taking the closet for myself. I have a crib and 2 dressers for baby and plan to keep it neat by getting rid or storing clothes as he grows out of them.

Eta....we had an armoire but it was too big for the room so we stored that as well.

I’d get a children’s dresser. You’ll need this sooner or later, even if you do get a room with a closet. It’s worth the investment. We recently bought a Lauren’s Love door dresser/changer. It’s got 3 drawers, one cabinet and the top is the changing table. We love it – saves space and provides organized storage.

In my brother's house they have a room without a closet its their guest room. He put up closet rods and painted them the color of the walls and uses it just like a closet. Than he put in some lower shelves and they put baskets on it. It looks great (hard to explain but its really nice), I'll see if he can send me a a picture.

Crashing- we have this situation.
DD's room has a closet but I can't use it for her- it used for storage since I have no basement or attic and our house is insanely small with no storage.

We just use the dresser/changer drawers and we got another tall chest of drawers- it has 4 drawers in it.

It works just fine!
