Slomin's Alarm...How long....

has the installation been for those of you who have had it done? The guy is at the house now but told DH it would be all day...that means he misses my doctor's appt tonight and I trek to Manhasset on my own. Chat Icon Does it really take all day?

Re: Slomin's Alarm...How long....

it depends on what is getting done.

When our alarm was installed, it only took like 2 hours but we had a wireless system installed and at the time, none of the windows were done just the doors and the smoke detector

We had the same thing & I would say our guy was there from 10-5. I don't think it will be more then that. It all depends on if it goes smoothly or not

I think my guy left around 7 - he was there all day - and then had to come back the next day too.

It would have been one whole day if they got to our house first thing in the morning. Instead, we waited until they showed up at 1 pm then another guy came the next week (also on Saturday) to finish the job.

I was not happy there was a one week lag and there were two different installers. If corporate/scheduling knew what they were doing it should have taken one installer one dayChat Icon

If you have a Optimum Voice, it might take longer. We've had our system for years, and when they came back to coordinate it with the phone system, 2 guys were here almost 9 hours.

So - the guy showed up at 9:30 and left at 6pm but we have someone coming back on Saturday to do one more thing. DH had told the guy that he needed to meet me at a doctor's appt and he said the guy was running around to move faster. That was really nice.

Oh and gotta love this - DH spent the night crawling around the house to "see if the motion detectors would catch him." He's too much. Chat Icon

Re: Slomin's Alarm...How long....

Slomin's took about a day and a half at our house. Some windows were not hard wired - some were in the kitchen and basement so that took longer.
