slightly freaked out
by this bag of drugs that was delivered last night! What are these enormous needles for? The Menopur??? Yikes. Last night I started the ganerelix, no biggie, pretty much just like the lovenox without the burning< i also started some estrogen pill. Then there is follistim and menopur and the trigger stuff.......it is a huge bag of drugs. A little intimidating i have to say.

Re: slightly freaked out
DO NOT FREAK OUT!
Giant syringes are sometimes used for mixing, but you can change the gauge needle when you do the injection.
The actual giant needles are for PIO and the trigger. Try not to freak out. It is VERY overwhelming at first, but you'll see they send you FAR MORE stuff than you actually use...not meds, I mean the other crap.
Just ask us when you have questions

Whew! Ok, so maybe that's what those other things are...smaller needles to replace those massive ones. I hope so...I didn't get instructions on any of that yet. Thank you so much Lauren, I am really good with needles, but the size of those puppies and the thought of me or dh doing it scared me to death.

Re: slightly freaked out
I almost passed out the day my meds arrived....it was so intimidating. The other girls are correct, the big needles are just for mixing. I only used one big needle for the trigger shot which was done in the arm (if you are a Dr. B patient) and it really wasn't bad at all. Dr B also doesn't do the PIO, he does crinone gel so you probably won't have to worry about the big needles at all. Take it one day at a time and you will see that it really isn't too bad (and this is coming from a HUGE needle-phobe!)

Re: slightly freaked out
I took a picture of all of my meds when they arrived. Just take it one drug at a time- you'll do great!
