Sleep/lay on your left side???
if seen this mentioned in a couple posts is the past.... what is this about??? wy the left and not the right? or am I just cracking up and think I've read this??

I think it has to do with blood flow to the uterus.
I sleep on my back still. The pain on either side is too excruciating.

Yup they say best blood flow & nutrients to the baby when your on your left side. Has to do with the flow of the blood & arteries on that side of the body.

I am 34 weeks and I never had trouble sleeping in any position until the last few weeks. Now I pretty much stay on my left. I am so uncomfortable on my back now...I finally get why they tell you not to sleep that way! I feel short of breath and like someone is sitting on me! I use a lot more pillows now, too! My only issue is that my left shoulder and hip get sore halfway through the night from the pressure of my big ol' body!!

Sleeping on your back while pregnant can create pressure on a major vein called the inferior vena cava. This vein returns blood from the lower body to your heart. This may lead to lightheadedness and/or numbness. In addition this may cause pressure on your back and intestines, leading to discomfort.

9 hqd to try to lay on my left side during the last month of pregnancy because my BP ws very high and it helps to lower it.
