When do you start to sleep on only your left side?

I know they say to sleep only on your left side. But how many weeks do you have to be for that?? I love sleeping on my right side and back I'm only 6 weeks or so.

TIA
Denise

I've never only slept on my left side. I slept on my back for a while on and off and now I alternate sides.

This is just a recommendation, it's not a MUST by any means. Really you sleep however you are comfortable. Trust me, your body will tell you when it's not. You'll feel crampy, the baby will kick, you'll feel short of breath, etc. I'm 24 weeks and still sleep on my back, stomach (kinda), and both sides. Basically, you sleep where you can, because you'll have a hard enough time sleeping at all. Take it where and in whatever position you can get it.

I think it's one of those things where your body will tell you what is right. I'm almost 32 weeks and have recently been having trouble sleeping on my right side (it makes my hand falls asleep and I get pain in my elbow/shoulder) But I still sleep on my back, left side and sometimes stomach!

Re: When do you start to sleep on only your left side?

I'm 28 weeks and I sleep on both sides. I was never a stomach sleeper, and I don't think there is any way I could lay on my stomach now anyway. I get very uncomfortable laying on my back.
Laying on either side with a pillow under my belly is the most comfortable for me right now.

i think your body will tell you.

I dont ONLY sleep on my left side. I fall asleep on my left side and wake up in the middle of the night on my back, so i switch to my right side.

I slept on my tummy until i was about 15 or 16 weeks.

I agree.

The funny thing is, I'm a left side sleeper normally, but these days at 25 weeks, I find I'm more comfortable on my right so I find myself sleeping more on my right side then my left

Re: When do you start to sleep on only your left side?

I'm 35 weeks and sleep on both sides, mostly the left, but I also sleep on my back with a ton of pillows to prop me up. Your body will let you know if you are not in the right position. And at 35 weeks it's been really hard for me to sleep period now since I'm so uncomfortable.
