Sleep help with sick baby...

DD is almost 5 months old and has been sttn since she was 7-8 weeks old. She loves her crib and never gave me any issues.

She is now sick with a mild case of croup Chat Icon
The first night we tried putting her to bed...she cried every single time we put her in her crib...so I placed her on her bouncy chair and slept with her on the couch...she slept wonderfully considering.

Last night she sounded worse than the first night so once again I let her sleep on her bouncy.

Tonight she sounded so much better so we tried putting her in her crib...and she was hysterical. So I guess bouncy chair it is.

Can a few days of being sick totally screw up her sleeping or will she go back to sleep in her crib once she feels better?

I have no problems with these sleeping arrangements until she feels better...but I am so nervous that I am creating a bad habit even if its only for a few days.

Please share your experience. Thank you!

she should be able to go back to her schedule. Have you tried putting the bouncy seat in the pack n play for overnight? - sometimes they do that at daycare.

Being sick can screw up their sleeping - particularly if it was necessary to change how or where they sleep. It was always a tough transition to put them back in their own bed/crib.

She may need another day or two to transition back or a day or two more of comfort. From my experience, a habit for a 5 month old can be changed in 2-3 days.

ITA.

DS had a horrible cold at about 3 months and we slept with him on the recliner. He did end up going back in his crib when he felt better.
