help! sleep regression after being sick

josh is 17 months and although i still rock him for naps to save time Chat Icon he normally gets put down awake and falls asleep on his own at night. but the last 2 weeks he was sick and i had to rock him to sleep so that he wouldn't cough too much (when he was lying down he would cough like a maniac and it would keep him from falling asleep.)

NOW he won't go down awake and i have to rock him. i know CIO would work for him but he has vomitting issues and his new thing is when he cries very hard he, coughs and then vomits. he's vomitted several times in his crib recently Chat Icon .

so i don't know what to do. i've tried rubbing his back but i just want him to be able to go to sleep on his own like he used to.

what do i do???

TIA!

Re: help! sleep regression after being sick

have you tried bathing him in the evening with the lavendar bath things?

I give Kristina a bath with the Baby Magic Calming Milk bath, and then lotion her up with the night time lotion w/lavender in it, and I'm telling you.... it knocks her out!

Re: help! sleep regression after being sick

This is why my son spent months in our bedChat Icon The only thing I can tell you is to let him CIO, being that you have done it before. My son would make himself throw up too, and then I stopped it for awhile, brought him back into the bed because I couldn't let him do that....

We ended up putting his crib in our room, right next to my bed...he slept in there a couple of hours, then was back in our bed. FINALLY, we decided thats it, back into his room, and let me tell you, he was sooo happy. I guess it was just perfect timing.
