Sleep Accommodations for 1yo on vacation
We are traveling to Italy for a family wedding in September. We are going to stay in a villa for a week but it does not come with a crib or sleeping accommodations for my 1 year old.
What would you recommend? Is it safe to have her share a bed with my husband and I? I worry that she could fall off.

We share our bed a lot and she sleeps between us.
ETA: if you plan on drinking, i would see if anyone could possibly get their hands on a PNP

We have always co-slept with our DDs - at 1 I wouldn't worry too much about it, so long as you keep her in the middle. We just slept the four of us on a futon this past weekend with the two girls in the middle - DD1 (almost 3) rolled onto DD2 (who turned 1 last week) and DD2 complained immediately and loudly, so at 1 they are old enough to let you know if something is wrong!

I would make a make-shift bed on the floor next to us with blankets.
I don't let ds sleep with us no matter where we are because none of us would get any sleep with all the tossing and turning.

Re: Sleep Accommodations for 1yo on vacation
I think the pack and play is your best option.
We are going to Montauk, granted it's not Italy!, but we are going there in August and bringing the 4MOMS pack and play for DS who will be 11 months at that time. He will sleep in that. We are going to bring his normal sound machine along. It is the easiest pack and play to set up EVER. We bring it everywhere because it packs up so well and literally sets up in ONE PUSH. DS also plays in it sometimes at home :)
I would be nervous about the same bed in Italy only because a lot of times their beds and in general everything is smaller than ours here in the US. That might be tight with you, her, and DH. It also might be hard if she's not used to it OR she could end up loving it so much she may never want to go back once you are home!

Re: Sleep Accommodations for 1yo on vacation
I would probably go with a PNP if you could. last year we traveled to NC fora week. We stayed at my dads house but we didn't have a crib or anything for the kids. We brought PNP's for our 2.5 year old twins or our 11 month old. They slept fien in them. We are doing it again this year and our almost 2 year old will sleep in a PNP and the twins on cots. The only reason we are not doing the beds with us is because if we want to stay up later then the kids they'll get upset that we aren't in bed with them. So separate beds works out better for us.

I would opt for some sort of pnp. Maybe even buy one for the week once you get over there. I do not enjoy having DD in my bed and don't get much sleep when it happens. Also, I wouldn't be comfortable with her napping on the bed without us right next to her. I just know I would enjoy my vacation a lot more if DD had her own place to sleep.

This. We got a travel pnp for DS and it worked fine. Just brought a few of his fav stuffed animals that's usually in his crib, take his sound machine and he's fine. I pack it in the largest luggage with the diapers, wipes, sound machine, stuffed animals and some toys.

I have the baby Bjorn travel crib and I love it. It's very lightweight and I pack it in a big suitcase and then put dds clothes, diapers etc on top of it.

I'd either bring a PnP or have an inexpensive one delivered to where you'll be staying (are there Walmarts in Italy? ).
