sizing question (help settle a debate)
For the stores that carry baby clothing that are sized 3,6,9,12 months.... Is 3 months intended to be around the same size as 0-3 or 3-6?

sizing question (help settle a debate)
I'm so tired can't phrase words correctly. Lol. The last number is the max month. Dd is in 18 months which is 12-18. 24 months is 18-24.
At 3 months dd was going into 3-6. Its all a guestimate though because my dd always grows out if things length wise instead of weight wise. And bru brand is always huge.

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
0-3, I'd say. I think whatever # the size is, is for babies up to that many months.

sizing question (help settle a debate)
my kids always were so true to size. So they fit into clothes that said 3 months at 3 months and could stay in that size until they were 6 months so then we brought 6 months stuff. So for us it was 3 months = 3-6 6 months = 6-9 9 months = 9-12

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
I usually think 3 month (like Carter's) is 0-3.... 6 month is 3-6.... Etc.

3 months = 3-6 6 months = 6-12 12 months = 12-18 Etc.
But it is bigger than just the sizes that are month specific so you getting a longer wear out of it.

ITA. It held very true for DD as an infant.

This. If you go back and look at 3 month clothes when dc. Is 6 months it would be very small

I don't know if that's how it's meant to be but that's how it's seemed for us. DS is now 10 months but he can't wear 9 month onesies or pants anymore, he barely fits into 12 month (all his summer clothes are 18 months or 24 months). He's big for his age but not off the charts or anything. I tend to think clothes are cut small for the label size.

sizing question (help settle a debate)
I always went with the biggest size on the label equaling the single number size.
3=0-3 6=3-6 9=6-9

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
I always rely on the weight for sizing! for example, my 7 month old is a chunky 20 lbs and for a lot of 9 month clothes, they fit up to 20 lbs... so he's moving into 12 month clothes

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
I think it depends upon the kid, the brand, and the cut. My kids are tall and always needed a bigger length in some brands vs others.

100% this. There is no debate (perhaps just misunderstanding).

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
I find that brands that use the two number range tend to match the size of the larger number in brands that use just one. So 3-6 is like 6 mos. and 6-9 like 9 mos. I just ignore the first number!

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
0-3 is smaller than 3 months
It's like newborn, IMO.
3-6 is closer to 3 months 6-9 is closer to 6 months Etc. but I think the ranges can be a little bigger than the one size labels. KWIM?

Then what is newborn size? This doesn't make sense IMO

I agree with this. I tend to look at the weight for the size & go by that.

Re: sizing question (help settle a debate)
3 =0-3. 3,6,9 is the age it will fit until. Theoretically. I always check weights though. Some brands are way off. My girls can wear 12 mo dresses in some brands but 18 is tight in other brands.

This is what it always was for my kids. DS is almost 7 months old, and is really just getting into the 6 months clothes. All mine were very average sized kids, and that number was always the beginning for us.
