Sitter/gift situation

James is in an in-home daycare. Same one he was in last year.

Last Christmas, I gave the sitter a nice GC to a store I know she loves. Never got an acknowlegement of it, even though I *know* she opened it. At the end of the school year, I gave her a VERY nice AMEX GC. Again, no thank you, nothing ever mentioned of it, even though I know she opened it. Both times we had put the GC's in a card and wrote a relly nice note. The cards were displayed on her counter the following day.

What do I do this year for Christmas? Give her another GC? I know that this sounds like I'm angry about not getting thanked for it, I know that. It's about the fact that it was never even MENTIONED.

Me-I would mention to her that you were planning on getting her a gift and want to make sure she like the place you got her a GC too since you were planning on getting that again.

I'm kind of nervy though.

I would probably do another GC, then the next time you see her after you give it to her...put her on the spot and say...I want to make sure you received the GC I put in the card.

But then it can bite you...if she is like ...no
