Sippy cup RAVE!
I've been trying to transition Kristina from milk in her bottles to in her sippy cup.
She uses the NUBY straw sippies... Here is a pic:
I was having a problem - and I guess b/c the whole milk is so thick as compared to water which is what she normally drinks out of these cups - with the milk pooling above the straw valve and then leaking down the side of the cup. What a mess....
Anyway, I went to BBB today, and bought one of these Munchkin cups hoping that I could avoid the pooling mess, and so far so good! NO pooling, and so far it seems to be leak free!

Good to know...we use the Nuby as well. Are the munchkin straws flexible too?

Yup! My choices were limited b/c Kristina only uses the flexible straws - no hard spouts at all....

We HAD this one and trust me...it'll start to leak...and if you push down on the plastic top the liquid will shoot out the straw...DD's friend has figured this trick out...so....MY suggestion....try THIS Munchkin BPA free one....it's the ABSOLUTE BEST one and I've tried them all!!

Re: Sippy cup RAVE!
Grrrrrrrrrrr.... I was only planning on using it for her milk during meal times....
I'm hoping that if I use it for her meals and she isn't taking it everywhere/throwing it everywhere, it might hold up for her milk.....

I actually should say that I use the one that Chelle posted now. I did use the first one posted but couldn't find it anywhere anymore - and I like the flip-top better for traveling. Both have very easy straws to drink from.

Also, I noticed with the NON flip top ones, the liquid will get stuck in the straw and Bella would always flick it out of her mouth and it would splatter EVERYwhere.
Doesn't happen with the flip top ones

Also - Chelle - did you know that they sell replacement straws for the flip top ones? Jack bites through them like crazy so now I buy the straws.....so much easier!

That was my son until I got this Munchkin cup (and believe me, I tried every other sippy/straw cup out there)

For the longest time she would only take her water out of the sippy....
I kept pushing and pushing and wasting lots and lots and lots of milk.... She is just starting to finally take it. A HUGE part of my problem was that I warmed her milk for her and she refused to drink it cold.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
Had I only known.....

Re: Sippy cup RAVE!
We went through hard spouts, soft spouts, etc. FINALLY Bryan settled on the Nuby ones. I don't have a complaint about them. I actually like them.

The Nuby 3 stage is great for transition as well. It comes with a regular nipple and a sippy cup nipple....

Re: Sippy cup RAVE!
They have those Munchkin straw cups at Target too. I've gotta look now for the flip top ones because Marron has learned how to push on the soft plastic top and spew the drink all over the place. I've actually switched back to my Playtex sippy cups because of this!
Also, for anybody trying to get their child to drink from a sippy instead of the bottle, try getting the cups with NO spill-proof spout at first. This is what I did because Marron would get frustrated that nothing was coming out of the sippy spout because she couldn't figure out how to s*ck from it so she gave up. Once she realized that the milk was in there and what she had to do to get it out, she drank it. Then I switched her to the spillproof cups. Also, I didn't really push the sippy before she was right around 1. I really switched from formula in a bottle to milk in a sippy all at the same time. Once she was on the sippy, she never looked back. I'm by no means an expert, but this is what worked for us.
