Silly question about contract

I don't have a copy of the contract in front of me from the sale of our condo but I remember it saying something along the lines of "Window Furnishings" as something I leave behind..

I took that to mean any custom fitted blinds etc. (which I am obviously leaving), however does that mean any of the curtains I have there or the curtain hardware? My husband thinks it does, but I think thats a little ridiculous.

Just wondering if anyone knew, if this was standard or not. My RE lawyer is on vacation until Monday. THanks!

Re: Silly question about contract

my purchase contract says "venetian blinds, window treatments, shades, screens, awnings, storm windows,...."

and they specifically EXCLUDED curtains, sheers, valances and hardware.

my sale contract says the same exact wording but we forgot to exclude our valances and hardware.

My DH and I are having the same debate. I asked the broker to ask the buyer if we could take the valances and hardware, but of course leave the blinds. They were fine with it. I would ask.

Re: Silly question about contract

Ok thanks. I am going to call my RE agent today and see if he can get in touch with the buyers agent. I spent alot of money on my curtains and would like to take them with me. I will leave the hardware if she really wants..

Re: Silly question about contract

I would def. ask. Our sellers specifically listed the curtains they were excluding. If not, it was assumed all else was included - I think if you don't exclude it - it's included BUT, def. ask!
