silly Q but does insurance cover 3D sonogram?
and do all drs have the 3D sonograms in the office or do you have to go somewhere else ?

some docs have it...mine does but only for one or two pics...but i am at a perinatologist. i dont think tooooo many reg obs have it but i could be mistaken

We had to go to a specialist at 20 weeks because the Level 2 showed a spot on DD's heart. At the specialist's office, they had the ability to turn a switch and put on 3D mode and they printed a few pictures for us from that. It was all covered the same as the specialist visit.
In general, our OB only does 3 or 4 sonos the entire pregnancy. I don't know what the coverage is beyond that unless it is considered necessary. You might just be as well calling your insurance company and asking. Couldn't hurt!

No they arent really for medical purposes. So if you go to one of the 3D places its NOT covered. I know madonna has a 3D/4D button and I asked and they said at the growth sono they would be able to print 2 or 3 pics out with it...and that would be covered since its part of a regular sono

I go to Good Sam and they told me the same thing. I have my next appt @ 28 wks and the tech told me that if the babes cooperates, they will do it then.

My doc's office does not. You have to ask. There are lots of places where you can get it done though.

My dr's office has a 3D sono machine. They took some 3D shots during my anatomy scan. This way I didn't have to pay to have a traditional 3D sono done but I still got pics because it was during a routine ultrasound.
