sometimes I use liner sometimes I dont..
If I change the garbage it gets liner
If Dh takes out garbage..no liner

My pail has a bucket within it that I pull out to empty the contents...I wash that. I don't like the look of plastic bags hanging out of the pail.
ETA - I put a bag in my kitchen pail (which is white)...I have a stainless steel colored pain in my bathroom (with a lid) and I (me, personally for my bathroom) don't like the look. I would never go in someone else's bathroom and roll my eyes at their lined pail.

even though it may not look as good, I always line the garbage pail! IMO, bathroom stuff can get yucky, I don't want to have to buy a new pail b/c I didn't like the look of a liner.
