Sick for over 2 weeks now, what do I do?
For the last 2 weeks I have had an awful cold, runny nose, nasty mucos, chest congestion etc. Today I just finished my last Zpack pill. However, I still feel pretty awful, especially my sinuses. I literally cannot smell or taste anything, the weird thing is, at this point I can "breathe" through my nose, but can't smell YKWIM? I am thinking I should go back to the doctor, but if it is viral can they even do anything about it??? This stinks!

Absolutely....it could be viral, but the only way you would know if the Dr, changes your antibiotics and it doesn't work again...I am talking from experience, I was sick for the entire month of January, with exactly the same thing, only mine was with asthma, it was horrible had to be on a nebulizer with steriods around the clock....Plus there is so much sickness (colds, bronchitis,etc.) going around...Please take extra care of yourself....

I would go back to the doctor just to get checked out. But the other poster was correct if it is viral the antibiotics won't do anything for you - other than maybe keep you from getting an infection. I know when I get a bad case of bronchitis or sinusitis that I often have a cough or congestion long afterwards. It maybe that the antibiotic you took wasn't enough though which is why I would say go back and just get "checked." Sometimes you have to take more than one course if you have some resistance to the antibiotic you took or sometimes it just wasn't strong enough to knock it out.

I had a similar experience. Went on two antibiotics but when I was 90% better, BAM! sick again.
I think there some of it is allergy. The weather has been so wonky.

This is what I am thinking it is now too. I normally get allergies in the spring but with the weather being so warm I think it might be contributing to my sickness. Especially because my eyes are itchy now, ugh, I have a feeling it is going to be a tough spring
