sick baby question...anyone have any experience with this situation?
Yesterday DS (22 months) had a 103 fever…very lethargic most of the day. Took him to the Dr yesterday and she advised his ears were fine but his throat was enflamed and full of puss. Quick strep test came back negative. Dr. gave us antibiotics anyways since the quick test is not 100% accurate. Come 6pm he is FINE….running around playing like his normal self. Fever did NOT skyrocket late last night (like I thought it would) and he only had a slight temp. Early this morning he had a slight temp again but still acting like his normal self. Eating great too. Is it possible the worst is over already? Or should I prepare myself for more high fever? Has anyone’s DC ever experienced a “short lived” viral infection?

Yes, my son is like that. He's almost never sick and when he is, it's usually just a day or 2. If he's acting like himself, and eating well, I wouldn't worry too much.
Hope he feels better soon!

DS usually reverts to himself after a dose or two of the antibiotics.
