shower... will it pour this weekend??? (UPDATED)
well ladies with only 2 weekends left until the baby is here and still no shower yet i'm wondering when this event is going to occur. I just looked at my registry and not even half of it is even off the registry which doesn't mean that my shower isn't right around the corner but that also makes me worried that I'm going to have to go out last minute and get tons and tons of stuff that I may not be getting. We shall see........
UPDATE: SO...I had my shower and let me tell you for those that are in the early stages make sure its not during the last few weeks. I'm 37 weeks I had a pretty decent time but I was achy and just felt so yucky through most of it. I came home and started to sort through and got fed up and left it to tend to another day which I have no idea how many more days there will be but I just couldn't do anymore. I got tons of clothes and blankets but I def still need to shop for lots of things like diapers and bottles and a few other essentials that I did not recieve. I'm just really stressed now because I have to attempt to get all this stuff organized and ready before the baby gets here which could be any day now. But at least I had one so I am thankful of that and now the stress of wondering is over.

So happy to hear you had your shower!!!!! It must be a relief. I could only imagine how stressful it must be though to get everything now, but everything will get done and DC will be taken care of even if DC makes an appearance sooner than expected.

Glad it happened and I agree with your advice. I told my mom from the get-go that I wanted mine on the earlier side b/c I wanted to enjoy it and I wanted the opportunity to get what I needed while I still had energy.

Ditto! The date for my shower has already been set (with my prior approval) and I will be 34 weeks.
I understand you are now a little overwhelmed and possibly not feeling your best.
But I think you need to be a little more grateful that people care enough for you that it happened at all. I know plenty of people who don't have anyone to do one for them and that is truly heartbreaking.
Anyway, congrats again and enjoy all of your gifts - I'm sure you DC will!

Re: shower... will it pour this weekend??? (UPDATED)
I'm extremely grateful and thankful to my mom and grandparents for giving me the shower, we got a ton of great stuff.
I just wish it had been a little earlier ... when I walked through the door my guests thought I was going to go into labor right there on the floor because I was out of breath and the shock through me into tears. Plus midway through opening gifts I'd had it and was ready to just go home and go to sleep and let them finish the party without me. By 37 weeks you just want to relax and be done setting up everything. I felt bad I couldn't even get around to everyone to say hi, too exhausted and my belly didn't fit through the chairs.
My mom said its supposed to be 4 weeks prior to EDD which is technically march 16th. However, I'm not making it till then and I do not recommend the whole 4 weeks prior more like 8 weeks prior so that you can enjoy yourself.
