Shower door treatment

Got an estimate for frameless sliders, about 1900, installed

They mentioned that for 150 per door I could also get them DFI treated so that soap scum etc doesn't get stuck all over it. Is that worth it?

I mean, I am not going to squeegee the doors after I shower but I do clean.....

Re: Shower door treatment

I restore and seal glass, using Hydro Shield sealer. Having the glass sealed is definitely the way to go but that price you were given is high. When the water stains start to form in the pores of the glass it can become difficult and expensive to remove them, depending on the hardness of the water. The sealer fills the pores of the glass and the build-up is then on the sealer, making the glass 75% easier to clean. The sealer I use will last 3-4 years on glass as long as it is maintained properly. As with any sealer you want to stay away from acidic cleaners. With this sealer you won't need to use any harsh cleaners. The sealer also works on glazed ceramic tiles, porcelain and granite. On granite it lasts 15 years.
