In this circumstance yes and I think in most cases. I feel if it was a one night stand or a fling then it might be best to do it in secret.

I answered yes.. in regards to this situation...
But, I reality how would they regulate that. One night stands... etc... How would they even know that the person being notified was really the Dad??

I say yes - though I don't think his permission should be required, I do think he should know.
However, if a woman really wanted to keep it to herself, I suppose she could say she doesn't know who the father is, etc., in order to avoid him knowing anyway.

In this situation - yes.
I am more upset at the fact that she "came clean" to him. In my opinion, she was obviously feeling very, very guilty - she made that decision, she should have shouldered that cross. While I do feel sad that she had to make that decision - she should have lived with the guilt of the lie. Why hurt him too? He had a right to know, but 18 MONTHS ago.

It depends on the situation. If the father would have no involvement if the child WAS born, then why should he know? BUT, in that situation where he was willing to BE a father - then definitely!
I agree.. If he was willing to do the right thing, she was wrong for lying to him

in this situation, yes, he should have been told, since he was willing to do the right thing. but i think generally speaking, it depends on the circumstance.
