Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
i currently only have an infant seat on my registry with 2 bases. i wasnt sure if i should put a convertible seat on because i heard that they might not go into that seat for a while and then there may be newer ones out.
what did you do? and if you put one on, which did you choose?

I did! Less for me to buy down the line! Plus you never know how long the baby is going to use the infant car seat ... could be a year ... could be 6 months!

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
I didn't. I was going to, but I figured by the time the peanut is in one, it will be about a year from now, maybe longer and who knows what else they will come out with. And if all is the same, we will just see what is on clearance. We know we want a britex and they same to be everywhere.
We also didn't do it b/c we just don't have the room to store 2 carseat boxes.

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
I didn't, just because there were other things I needed more immediately and I wasn't having a huge baby shower.
I eventually bought the Britax Marathon and the Evenflo Triumph. I bought a second Triumph for the ILs.

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
I registered for one and returned it after the shower - my son did not go into till over 9 months - plus they are only good for 5 years - i think last year there were a lot of changes don't there will be as many this year - britax uped all its rear facing weights
i was told to add more before my shower so this was a good solution - BBB was great about returns plus i was able to use a coupon so i had some extra credit when i rebought the seat
I have the recaro and britax boulvard and both are good

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
I didn't because....
first we didn't know how lond the baby would be in the infant car sear. At the time we bought one that was good for up to 30 lbs (which was alot higher than others out at the time).
Good thing we didn't because DD we didn't retire it until she was 16 months old.
At that time we bought a Britax Marathon (LOVE IT). And she has been in it since (she will be 5 in June).
Another reason I am glad we waited was because they have expiration dates on them...and we would have wasted a year and a half on it, since we used the infant seat for so long.
I mean the plus side to registering for it would be...cause they do go for about $300, and someone probably would buy it.
Others don't wait so long to use it, so it is up to you on what you want to do

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
We registered for both, but only one convertible. I figured, if someone wants to buy it (it was one of the first things to go) then thats great, and when DC is able to use it we will buy another one ourselves. By that time there may be something else out I want, but the one we got is a Britax Marathon.

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
I plan on registering for both, but no clue which one yet. I think it's good to register for things you will need done the road too, so you dont have to buy it then. Saves you money.

Re: Should i register for a convertible car seat AND an infant seat?
I registerd for both but did not get the Convertible. I am going to hold off on buying it until I need it because you never know how long that will be and what new models will be released.
