Should I just introduce cow's milk? How?
You would think I'm a first time mom, but I just don't remember how and what I did with my DD . My DS is 11 mo, he will be turning one in 2 weeks. He was EBF for 8 mo, then we started solids and this past month or so I have been BF /supplementing with formula . He basically eats everything at this point, including regular yogurt (Yo baby and Yo toddler with fruits and veggies) and other dairy products like cheese. I'm trying to slowly wean him off BM while supplementing with Similac. But I really don't want to give him more formula than I have been giving him already because he has some tummy issues and formula seems to make it worse. Anyway, I just looked and I'm almost out of formula, have maybe 5 days worth left, so was thinking if I should just start him on cow's milk instead of buying more formula. Also how should I introduce it? Do I mix it with formula or do I just give him just CM (very little) on it's own?
Thanks for reading and for any advice

You can start introducing cows milk. I started shortly before DS 2's first b-day too since I was running low on formula (and I think I was at the ped for a sick visit and he said go for it).
I started with 1/2 formula/1/2 milk and gradually increased to 100% milk. It didn't take long with DS 2 but, it took forever with DS 1 since he had sensitivity to lactose (which we weren't aware of at the time).

I'm reading that new studies show there is no difference and it's ok to give no organic but pediatricians recommend organic. Confused .

I started a few days before 12m but only cause I had formula to use.
As for organic...its up to you. My DS is on Lactaid and there is no organic version. But even if I had him on regular milk I don't think I'd buy organic.

My ped told me a few weeks before DD turned one would be fine. I'm glad I did try before her one year appointment bc she ended up having a reaction so I was able to discuss it at her appt. I always gave it straight and not warmed bc I was bfing and had no pumped milk to mix it with anyway. It took a while for her to get used to it but now she takes it fine. If she was on cow's milk I would probably try to get organic when it was available. I have trouble finding the organic soymilk sometimes so I get what's available. If not organic, I at least get non GMO.

I plan to make the transition slowly and start before 12 months. DD is on gentlease so I'd prefer to go slowly. I may start mixing 1/4 milk and 3/4 formula for a few days. Then 1/2 milk 1/2 formula a few days etc...
I think I may go to organic cows milk because of the hormones but my ped never said I had to or even recommended it to me.

If you can afford organic..definitely do it and if you can take your time to educate yourself on the differences between organic BJ's/Costco vs. Horizon vs. grass fed, organic pasturized, definitely do so.
You want the latter, grassfed, organic and pasturized and it's actually not the most expensive, fairway sells each half gallon for $3.49. Introduce it slowly, 2 ounces of cow, 4 of formula and watch for reactions...increase the cow portion every few days I would say.
