Should I highlight my hair?

I have darkest brown hair...almost black...

I used to dye it as a teenager but I stopped bc it made my hair less healthy...and also all the colors I tried just didn't belnd well or look natural--I think my hair is too dark!

I was plannning on waiting until I go grey to dye...but I have such an itch....

Anyone have pictures of this color hair with pretty highlights?


Should I just leave it and worry about it when I go grey?

I have basically the same color. And I was thinking the same. A woman on my soap opera has dark hair as well & she has done red highlights. I will post photos.

i loooove dark brown hair. i cant pull it off very well, i need some type of highlight.

this is a tough one because you know once you highlight, you're kind of stuck with it. any time you put bleach in your hair, it will always pull through when you go darker.

i would sit with your colorist and discuss all the options and colors. i tried so hard to talk my colorist into something last time, and she knew me and by looking at me that it wouldnt work. we compromised on something and it turned out to be my favorite color so far!

sometimes having the pro check it out and hear what you want will help.

also, a new cut is sometimes all you need.
