shot in the dark.. Norman Rockwell question.

This is a shot in the dark. I am desparate to find a print of the Norman Rockwell painting called, "Little Shaver". The one where the boy is watching his Dad shave. I want to put it in my new bathroom. I have scoured the internet and I can't find it anywhere. I can find plates and figurines but, no prints of this.

Does anyone know if certain painting were not made into prints? Or has anyone recently seen this print anywhere? This is making me NUTS!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

TIA

I researched a bit, and you're right..no prints to be found of that one..seems it was a limited edition collectors plate/figurine.

The only thing i can think of...you can order the plate and possibly have a professional scan the image off the plate and have a print made. But i'm sure thats breaking some copyright laws, lol..you never know though, something to look into!

It's really weird, right? I eventually found that sketch. But, I wasn't thrilled with it. I wanted it in color. I guess I have to come up with a new idea.

We did a DIY bathroom and I am TERRIBLE at spakling. There was a bad issue with the drywall that I tried to cover but, it's very lumpy and gross looking. I was hoping to cover it with a large picture!Chat Icon

Maybe I should sponge the walls to try and cover the spakle job.

Thanks for your help ladies. So frustrating.

Let me see, I have a bunch of old NR prints. I'll get back to you..

ETA: do not have that one either. Sorry

How about putting the plate in a shadow box???

You should call the norman rockwell museum. They would know. The museum sold a lot of prints when I was there last. I love norman rockwell. My dads uncle owns an actual painting. It was a thank you gift passed on for lending rockwell props for the barbershop quartet.

Re: shot in the dark.. Norman Rockwell question.

I wonder if there might be a calendar out there that has it as one of the month's pictures???

The only other thought I had was to have an artist copy it and make the print for you! Caroline (Chee Chee Beans) has done replicas of famous paintings, maybe FM her with the picture and the size you need for a quote!!!

That sounds expensensive!

As for the plate..that is an idea I will have to consider. I wanted it to be 11x14 but, that might be an alternative.

I may also try the Norman Rockwell museam. Thanks for all the ideas.
