Short periods? Please help...

My periods have consistently been 5 days for my whole life until last cycle. Last cycle it was 3 days. This time it was 2 days. Is this a sign that something could be wrong?? I haven't been stressed, I'm not on any kind of meds that might affect it.....I just don't know what would cause this? We have been TTC for 7 cycles with no BFP, I am begining to wonder if perhaps there is a problem...

Are you sure these have been periods? 3 days seems possible but 2 would make me think it wasn't really a period. Have you taken a hpt lately?

I didn't take an HPT because it was bright red blood, and it was enough to where I needed to wear a tampon(tmiChat Icon )

Hmmm I would take one just to be sure. And maybe even call your doc and see what they suggest. I've never heard of there being anything wrong with short periods but the 2 days just seems super short.

are you sure you are ovulating??
really short periods can sometimes actually be anovulatory bleeding and not a "true" AF.

also thats normal every once in a while, but shouldnt be happening every month.

I was just thinking too, have you been sick recently? I know that can wreak havoc on my cycles.

My AF is 3 - 4 days...used to be longer when I was younger. I have shorter cycles too though, maybe that has something to do with it?

I used to have 5 days of period when I was a lot younger and recently, I've been getting short periods proceeded by a few days of spotting. I'm 28 now. DH and I also have been TTC for the past year and nothing has happened so I started seeing a RE. I would suggest you go see your OB/GYN if this pattern keeps up! Always follow your instinct.
GOod luck!

Mine are three days (two with really heavy flow, one much lighter, all usually preceded by spotting), and I definitely O. How heavy are your two days? Talk to your doc if you're concerned.

My 2 days were I would say on the heavy side of regular, if that makes sense.....
One thing I thought of is that I drink about 160 mg of caffeine on an average day, would that factor in to this at all?

I don't think the caffeine is the issue - that's about 1-1.5 cups of coffee, right?

If you're concerned, call your doc.
