Shoes

At what age did your LO start wearing shoes? I know they tell you not to for a while since their feet are growing.

Re: Shoes

Dd is turning one next week. She is barefoot about 95% of the time. I put shoes on her when we are out places where I don't want her to be barefoot, like if we go to a party or when we went pumpkin picking. She is not walking yet but loves to stand.

I bought pedi ped originals walking shoes when she started cruising but only for when we were out and she wanted to walk around. 95% of the time she was barefoot.

Re: Shoes

DS is 10.5 months old. I tried putting shoes on him for my sister's wedding (he was in a tux) and he screamed! He prefers chewing on his socks to wearing them. So he's always barefoot and I think he will be until the Spring when I assume he'll be walking outside.

Re: Shoes

I bought my DD her first pair of shoes at 8 mos. We were on the soccer field on the weekends with her older brother, and I wanted something warmer on her feet.

She's 10.5 mos old now and barefoot or in socks at home. She's not walking yet. She only wears shoes when she's going to be outside.

Re: Shoes

When they are full time walking then they need shoes.
If they are cruising or just taking a few steps no shoes at all
DD walked at 9 months so right after that we went to Stride Rite to be measured and get a good quality pair of shoes

Re: Shoes

I put them on when we go out to keep feet warm or if its for a cute outfit. They are almost 14 mo. They have been walking since about 11.5 mo. I'll get real walking shoes once they are out playing outside.

Re: Shoes

I put on shoes from weeks old, whenever I knew I was taking them out of the carseat. It was always the soft ones that are really not meant for walking. They started wearing hard sole shoes when they started walking.

Re: Shoes

We bought her real walking shoes when she was 13 months and walking everywhere. I still usually keep her barefoot or in socks in the house, and she's 18 months. Before she was walking independently, she had pedipeds flexible shoes for pre-walkers, that I only put on her when we were outside.
