Shaving: how to avoid red bumps

So with summer coming I'm wondering if there are any tricks to shaving your bikini line and not getting those red bumps. I suffer from them something terrible and I want to avoid it at all costs...if at all possible.

I've tried tend skin, special bikini shaving lotion, new razors each time, ect. No luck!

ETA: Not looking to wax either. I've already had 5 laser treatments but had to temporarily stop them because I'm pregnant. So just shaving tricks. TIA!

I apply a lot of shaving cream, and then shave realllllly slow. That seems to do the trick. Also, not shaving w/ hot water on it afterwards.

Go with the grain- meaning shave in the direction the hair grows.

Re: Shaving: how to avoid red bumps

Unfortunately this is my life!

I run almond oil all over the shave areas before shaving. Sometimes I also use olive oil with Epsom salts to exfoliate and make really oily to reduce friction.

THEN I use a conditioning balm to shave with, like biolage, or an upscale brand. Or pure Shea butter. I use a Venus embrace blade.

After, I apply tea tree gel to the bikini area, and after it dries use more almond oil or Shea butter. It's a lot of work, but this gets me the best results!

This is going to sound useless but I swear it works.

After shaving swab the area with rubbing alcohol. It stings a tiny bit but its worth it.

Re: Shaving: how to avoid red bumps

Thanks I'm going to try some of these remedies and see which works best.

Isn't tend skin kind of like the rudding alcohol? I'll give it a shot anyway. At this point I'm desperate.
