Share your money saving tips
I am about to have my 3rd DC in about a week. I am taking an unpaid 6 month maternity leave. My parents have watched my twins in the past and will watch all 3 until december but after that I will have 3 kids in daycare Starting to get nervous about money!
Besides the obvious clipping coupons and staying out of target can you share any money saving tips? Even if not directly child related!

Beg Cablevision to lower your bill. I gave them a sob story about having twins and being out of work and got free showtime, encore, and lowered my monthly bill about $20.
I follow this blog closely that is affiliated with the TODAY show. She gives great tips all the time to get free stuff, free samples, etc. I love that she highlights extreme price drops on Amazon.com items. I've gotten some GREAT extremely discounted stuff for the kids. This could help with buying gifts, etc.

Shop ahead for kids clothing. I go to the sales rounders and look for a size or two in a season or two in advance. I then buy what is on sale with a coupon. In general you can get items for about 70% off of their purchase price that way. You never need to worry if your DC has a sudden growth spurt as you will already have items ready for them in their closet. I also have a few friends who I trade clothing with. They have an older daughter and a younger son, and I have an older son and a younger daughter so it is perfect for switching clothing.
Meal plan and use up your left over food items.
Use camelcamelcamel.com to make sure you are getting the lowest price on amazon. They have price trackers.
Lower your thermostat and perform an energy audit in your home.
Perform routine maintenance on your cars to prevent large issues from cropping up unexpectedly.

I use target brand formula. It's 15 dollars cheaper than the enfamil and is really the same. I shop for clothes for the next season on clearance at target too. Everything is like 3 bucks

I buy Target brand everything..........diapers,formula, paper towels, lotions, snacks, etc.
I try and pair my coupons with the weekly sales.

I use MetroPCS - $50 a month for unlimited phone, text, data. No issues with it at all though data is definitely slower than people with "brand name" phone plans.
They will keep your same phone number, depending on which carrier you currently have (i had Verizon and kept my number).

Yes you can keep your same number.
You can use your existing iphone I believe through their sim program, not really sure how that works since I don't have a smart phone. It might work for other smart phones other than an iphone. Not sure. Those plans are $45 a month and include unlimited everything.
They use sprint, t-mobile, verizon and at&t towers for their service. My phone runs off t-mobile.
I have a basic phone that I can check email with, facebook, upload pics, etc. $33 a month 1,000 texts and 1,000 minutes. I am not married to my phone though so I never go over  I also can't stand touch screen, so I will never upgrade to something with a touch screen.

Use the cheapest diapers/wipes that work for you. Stock up when on sale and buy a few of next size too.
Agree about shopping a year ahead for clothes. Short sleeved onesies, hoodies, leggings can be used any season.
Always walk down the baby aisle in the supermarket/drugstore. You can often find food/snacks/sippys/etc on clearance.
Make your own baby food and freeze it. 1 big sweet potato can be 60 cents in season and make 3-4 meals!

I dont mind hand me down clothes/used clothes. I got a winter coat for DD for about $7 off ebay. It was in great condition and I just washed it before I let her wear it.
If you want to buy new, TJ Maxx has Carters clothing on sale for about 5.99 every day price, its better than the carters sales!
