Sesame Place

What hotel would you recommend?

Would you book an official partner hotel and do a package including tickets?

Would you combine it with anything else if you went for a weekend (1 night)?

We stay at the sheraton bucks county across the street. We love it. I have never done a package though.

When are you thinking of going? I wanted to do it this past summer but then I got too big with the pregnancy and we didn't make it. Thinking either late June or August for an overnight. Timely post.

I remember you saying you wanted to go. One last trip with just dd1. I was jealous lol but thought you were nuts. Lol.

Thinking May. Not going for the water stuff.

May do a bday trip in early July for my girls bdays. They're only 4 days apart.

I think they are only open the last weekend in May, if I remember correctly from last year. Stayed at the courtyard down the block. They had a free shuttle to the park and the guy was so nice. We did a package and got free breakfast (which had huge portions) and also did the please touch museum.

Totally nuts, which is why we didn't make it. Lol

Mine are 11 days apart but we won't be able to make it around their bdays with DH's work schedule.

Character meal or no? Trying to navigate this stuff is like a whole different world!

The character meal was cute. The characters come to the table and are really interactive and you can dance with them. The food isn't very good though.

They open in April.

Definitely do a character meal. The kids have a great time and you avoid waiting in lines for photos with many of the characters. The characters at the meal are Elmo, Abby, Zoe, Cookie Monster, the Count, and sometimes Big Bird.

We did a package through the Sesame website and stayed at the Radisson. Very nice, clean, and we got lots of perks (coupons, souvenirs, etc).

The BEST thing you can do at Sesame is to reserve a cabana. We did, next to the the Count's Splash Castle, and it was amazing. It was so nice to have a private place to go back, relax, nap, etc. Best money we spent, hands down. Plus they give lots of freebies. We did Breakfast with Elmo the last day and then went on a few more rides.

We did 2 days and had so much fun.

The cabana is more if you do the water rides, right?

Did the radisson have a shuttle?

Re: Sesame Place

Deciding between these hotels. Anybody have any feedback? We will be with our almost 3 year old and almost 1 year old. A suite would be nicer to get some separation.

Spring hill suites by Marriott
Residence in. Langhorne by Marriott
Sheraton bucks county
Radisson

Looks like spring hill is walkable to the park?
Others offer shuttles or you drove and parked?

Anybody do the Abby unlimited magical queue thing where you can fast pass the line?

The cabana is a flat fee no matter what I think...we paid $250 for the day, and each cabana has a fridge with drinks, free souvenir towels and character interactions.

Not sure if they had a shuttle - we drove to the park, it was about 15 mins away.

Tx. I meant it's great to do a cabana if you're doing water rides though? We plan on going before it gets hot and wasn't planning on the water stuff.

Springhill is directly across the street from the park. You just cross the street and are in the VIP parking lot.

We didn't need the magic queue when we went in early June. Schools weren't out yet and the park wasn't crowded at all. When we went in November we purchased it in the park on the app while waiting in line. It was very crowded and the kids didn't like waiting on the lines. You only need to buy it for the adult since the child will be riding with you. We only got one per couple because both of us would take turns taking the little ones on. I would wait until you gauge the crowd before you buy it. If you're going early in the year you probably won't need it.

Your little one needs to take three unassisted steps to ride the rides. They always asked if my son could walk and then asked to see him walk a few steps before we were allowed on the rides.

Oh sorry! I would get one even if not doing water rides because you otherwise have to plant your things at a beach chair and pray they are still there when you get back. If you bring a stroller, wagon, etc...it's a zoo trying to find a spot to sit and relax. We went in August and the place was mobbed, in May, I don't know..

Good to know about spring hill. Think I'm leaning towards that one.

Good to know about the Abby queue thing. Didn't know you could buy it on the app while already in the park. We would only need to get one then bc one of us will be staying with the baby.

Yeah I'm sure August was packed with kids out of school, camp and water rides going. Still very cool to have your own cabana.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. You think it's worth going and not doing the water rides? I was thinking we'd do the shows, parade, regular rides and charterer stuff.

There is plenty to do without the water rides. Both times I went we didn't do the water rides. We just did dry rides, shows, and the parade.

The hours weren't that long either (I think like 10-6 or 7) and we did the whole park with a nap. You could leave for dinner (the food isn't very good anyways). There are a ton or restaurants right by the park. Also a target.

You will have enough to do. There are 3 different shows you can see. If you do a character meal, parade, toss in a show or two, and the dry rides, you will be fine. Make sure you bring towels or a large blanket. People drop those to hold spots on the parade route hours before the parade starts. You plop it down and then just continue what ever you have planned.

They don't allow that anymore. They have signs up saying if items are left unattended for more than 5 mins they will be taken to guest services. They have people walking around the parade route gathering up stuff.
