Separation Anxiety question

Don't laugh at me but...

What is this?


AJ has an appointment today but my hubby and I were thinking maybe she's going through a phase?

She's happy to get to daycare and loves waving hi to everyone and is happy but when she walks into her room she begs to be carried. Then she cries when we put her into the highchair for breakfast. She's streaming out tears like its the end of the world drama. Then they put food in front of her and she's unsure. After a bit she'll eat some and she's ok. Still red eyed and flushed, tears on her cheeks, drool on her chin. But she's alright. We kiss her good bye and she'll maybe blow us a kiss or wave bubye.

We watch her off and on all day on the cameras. Me, my husband and my father all do. Mostly she's pretty content and altho the video has no sound she seems happy and normal.

When we pick her up we sneak in on her and she's ok or if she's not and she's crying she immediately stops when she sees one of us.

So now we're wondering at 17mo is this Separation Anxiety ?

That sounds exactly what it is. My DS had been in daycare since he was 10 weeks. He loves it there. He does really well there all day. About 16 or 17 months, he started throwing a fit when I would drop him off...crying saying No bye byes and it made me feel terrible. He would cry for about 5 minutes after I left. I knew that this was the case because my sister always dropped off my nephew about 10 min or so after I did and my son was always happily playing. Unfortunately for my son, it lasted until about 22 months. Then one day it stopped.

Yes-there are many phase of separation anxiety. I actually read 18 mos is a common one. About 2 weeks ago I could not leave the room away from Ronan he would get hysterical. Now he is better
