Selden Dad delivers baby in SUV
(09/14/11) SELDEN – A Selden dad delivered his baby in the front seat of his SUV just miles from the hospital, according to Newsday.
Ryan Shulz delivered baby Emma after his wife Barbara went into labor yesterday morning.
The couple was headed to Stony Brook University Hospital, but on the way it was clear Emma would not wait.
Schulz pulled into the parking lot of Hawkins Path Elementary School, five miles from the medical center and helped his wife deliver the baby girl.

 Wow, congrats to them but what a scare that must have been! My mom went really fast with her deliveries, so this is my fear.

Wow, congrats to them but what a scare that must have been! My mom went really fast with her deliveries, so this is my fear.
me too - when I got to the hospital with DS#1 I was already 10cm and only had been in labor for 3 hours. Im terrified this will be me. Im delivering at SB and I know just my luck, Ill get stuck in the nightmare that is 347 Rush Hour on the way there.

I saw this on the news. My Ds' daycare is very close to there. Guess the baby was early to school...LOL.

you know what funny about this... (TMI)
last night DH and I just got out of dinner and were in his brand new Dodge Ram (neat and tidy in every way, wont even let me eat in this thing) and I said to him I can't wait until my water breaks in this thing and I gush all over the place!(sorry to be gross but its what I said) He said that for the last month of my pregnancy I am not allowed in his truck because of this reason. He has been thinking about this since we got pregnant. He is afraid something like this will happen and his poor truck will be destroyed. I want to make it a point to have my water break in this thing. That would make my year! Oh and we live in Selden also.

it's slightly amusing to me because i keep wondering "what if" i don't make it to the hospital in time. my dh is a cop so he (supposedly) knows how to deliver a baby but... i cannot even imagine.... he would probably scream "SHUT YOUR LEGS" and drive like a maniac anyway!
