Second Honeymoon

I am not sure how long you've been married, but being that I was married last summer I can say that I MISS my honeymoon terribly Chat Icon I want to go back to that week and relive it over and over and over again! I think that having all that time with DH was such a great feeling and with his crazy work scheduele we haven't had more that three days together, off at the same time, since.

I'm thinking of doing a one-year anniversary vacation just to relive that moment.....any good places to recommend? Hotels? Resorts? TIA

Re: Second Honeymoon

DH and I went to Italy around our 1 year anniv. I always wanted to go there and figured b4 we start having kids it would be the best time to go to Europe. We had an amazing time! We went to Hawaii for our HM and nothing compares to that. Maybe for out 10 year anniv we'll go back.

ANy ideas where you want to go and for how long?

Re: Second Honeymoon

We spent part of our honeymoon at Ladera in St. Lucia. It was an absolutely amazing, breathtaking, romantic setting. I would definitely reccomend it.

i felt the same way. We were talking about our next vacation while we were still on our HM! We are going to London and Amsterdam next month. But we also would like to go to Puerto Vallarta Mexico in December or sometime early next year.

Re: Second Honeymoon

I felt the same way, but it won't be the same as a "re-do".
We did a honeymoon "redo" 6 months after our first because our beautiful Jamaican honeymoon was rained out! Our redo was in Mexico because as mush as we miss it, there is no redoing your honeymoon :)
We try to go somewhere, just for the 2 of us, every year.

We also go away for our anniversaries! How about Barbados or Bermuda? What is your budget and how far away are you willing to travel? We are doing Hong Kong and Thailand (where we had our honeymoon!) this yearChat Icon

I'd like to go somewhere for a week or like 9 days (can't leave the pup for that long lol). I really would like to go to Europe, but am not feeling the flight. :(

DH and I went to Puerto Vallarta for our first anniversary and Costa Rica a few months later. Either would be a great destination for an anniversary vacation!

Have you ever flown that far before? It's really not that bad! You get fed twice and you usually have your own little TV. Just bring a lot of books/magazines and your ipod and if all else fails take some sleeping pills and sleep the whole timeChat Icon

We're going on a 9 day cruise for our anniversary in the fall. We stop at 3 islands (can't remember which ones). It's a Carnival Cruise.

Re: Second Honeymoon

We loved our hM too and wanted to do it again but a Greece vacation is way out of our budget! We went to the DR in January which was 6 months after our HM...we are also going to New Port RI to a B and B for our 1 year anniversary. If any of those things interest you i'd be happy to give you info!

I agree... it really wasn't too bad at all. Bring a portable DVD and some movies, books (or even books on the country you're visiting), etc. Take something to sleep if it'll make you feel better. Flights to Europe are usually overnight anyway so I passed out for a while. We flew Air France then took a flight to Italy from there. Let me tell you the European airlines give you soooo much more than American... two big sized meals, your own TV and lots of movies to watch.

Re: Second Honeymoon

we never went anywhere after the wedding, it was impossible and DH got very sick 2 days later, so it was probably better off.

We are going away for 18 days in March, and i am kinda dreading it, because i do not want to leave my dog that longChat Icon

Plus to pack for all those days is going to really hard as well

Wow, 18 days! That's a great vacation, where are you going?

It'd be very hard for me to leave my dog too, but I'm sure whomever you leave it with will take great care of him or her.

I can't imagine packing for 18 days, I think I would take adavntage of whatever laundry service was available!

Have a great time!

Oh wow, I thought we were the only ones. We never took our honeymoon because DH had to finish some classes for work. We're supposed to go this summer, but it doesn't look like it's happening. Unless I pull some $$ out of my a$$. I would like to do New Orleans, I think it would be nice.
