Seasonal allergies in infants?

I think James inherited my allergies (although, I haven't so much as sneezed since I was pregnant with him! Chat Icon ). He's constantly rubbing his nose and sneezing, watery eyes, the whole nine. I'm like 99.9% sure it's not a cold.

Is there anything I can give him to help alleviate his symptoms? Chat Icon

Re: Seasonal allergies in infants?

DS allergist said seasonal allergies don't typically show up until around 18 months. She said DS at 15 months might be starting to show symptoms and I could hive him 1/4 dose of children's zyrtec.

However, your DS is a lot younger, I'd bring him to the ped to make sure there is nothing else going on.

My DD is 10 months and has seasonal allergies... with my older DD they showed up around 7 months so they can show up early...

The humidifier works good, we're trying not to give allergy medication and the dr said as long as its not taking over her life to just try to let it run its course..

DS too, his also showed up around 9 months, they were mild at the time, but he had them as a baby.

Yep..i think my DS has the same allergies has his dad. he's had the runny nose, congestion and cough all month.

not much you can do except humidifiers. i do use our nebulizer with a saline solution or the albuterol to open up his chest. and the bulb to clear his nose.

i thought DS might have seasonal allergies too but my ped said that they have to go through at least 2 allergy seasons to really develop it. this is only DS's first so he ruled it out.
