Screaming toddler
My 2 year old has become a huge screamer. Started a few weeks ago with a yell here and there and now it's for everything. Tonight he screamed on and off for an hour. Doesn't yell mommy or daddy.
I tried everything... Timeouts, ignore, telling him nicely we don't yell and we need to use our inside voice. Nothing works. Doesn't help that he has a speech delay and sees an EI therapist so a lot is frustration too.
The EI person said to ignore, but I tried and tried and he's stubborn.
Any advise?

Omg I have NO advice but wanted to tell you we are sort of going thru that same thing with ava. She started a few days ago with this "scream" it started out of the blue esp if she isn't getting her way. Maybe its a phase??? Oh boy I really hope!

oh mother of GOD YES...... i want to scream myself when she does this.
i truly miss my sweet, angelic girl & am not a huge fan of who she has been replaced with...
the scream....the pitch of it alone makes dogs ears' perk up!

no advice only sympathy.
Today was a new one for us. She didnt want to leave school. We had to pick her up and carry her out. The whole time she was screaming ... "I WANT TO DIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!"  
I have no clue where she got that little gem but I am NOT amused. She kept saying it over and over again SCREAMING it out. I WANT TO DIE. 
Finally had to put her in time out in the car with some stern words. Freaked out me and the hubby big time.

Deal with the cause first, but most often its just to get a rise... so I say as nonchallantly as possible, "you scream so loud, you scare the babies/ your scare the nieghbors ... the man from next door going to come and complain" ... he's 18m, and while I didn't think this logic would work at this age, it works beautifully, makes him aware that his actions have consequences other than just annoying me. I also feel like it teaches him empathy and repect for public space.

DD has become a screamer lately too. If she cant get something done, unbuckled, reach something. she screams
I think it's frustration that they cant vocalize yet. I just tell her, ' dont scream, say HELP. Mommy will come and help you."
Sometimes it works.

No advice but empathy.
DD has been doing this for MONTHS.
2 times the other day she did it so loud and so close to me ear that I am not even kidding you-I feared hearing damage to myself and her.
It was ear shattering.
I have no clue why or how to stop it.

I told you this already but you need to continue to ignore it each and every time. Just keep doing what you are doing. I promise you will tune it out eventually..Brayden already does..lol

I'll try, but he doesn't seem to care that I'm ignoring. I think it's hardest in the mornings to ignore.
Btw... I went to your cleaners today and told them you recommended me so hopefully I got you a discount.
