Scratches/cuts on infants? What do you do?
DS is 9 months (today! yay!) and has a large scratch on one finger. Who knows how he did it...Anyway, it is about 1/2 the length of his finger. It's not deep, and I don't think it bled much, but it's very red and seems to be swelling.
Do you put bandaids or neosporin on infants? I think he'd just eat the bandaid and then lick off the medicine, considering he just ate my grocery list tonight at the store. I don't feel like making a trip to the doc. if all he will do is put on some cream.

I'm unfortunately a pro at this because Riley has EB (a blistering skin condition). I constantly keep her hands clean, and if it's an open wound, I put polysporin on it first, then lather her hands in aquaphor. And every night before bed, regardless of any wounds, I use aquaphor. It's a great moisturizer!

Hmmmm this sounds like a paper cut!!! You said he was playing with your grocery list???? Anyway I always use a little bacitracin on a cotton ball to dab the scratch or cut. Not heavy, just to kill any germs around the area; I've always used neosporin as well, which seems to speed healing up, but I'll have to try Aquaphor as well after reading that here!!!
