School days?
What is considered to be a school day? There is an intersection that I travel through every day that has a sign that says "No Turn on Red (between certain hours) On School Days". So, are weekdays during the summer considered school days? Seems kind of confusing to me.

It’s funny you ask that because I consider the summer non-school days and wondered the other day if I was wrong. I told myself that if I got pulled over My defense would be “it’s summer.”

Re: School days?
I take it has when school is in session. So I do not consider summer to be school days but now that I am writing this I guess technically some schools do have summer days so maybe it does it apply in the summer?

Exactly! Very confusing But then I think if they meant Mon-Fri always, it would just say that - No Turn on Red, M-F, right?

Re: School days?
We have a street that has a stop sign that folds down and it's only up during school days in the morning and the afternoon around drop off and pick up time. I've never seen it up in the summer.
ETA: But that is very confusing! I probably just wouldn't turn anyway during the summer weekdays.

When school is not in session. So if there is no summer school at that particular school then you are good.

Re: School days?
So funny you ask. A few years ago, when we were living in Forest Hills, we needed to find street parking overnight. There was a school around the block from us that had something like - No Parking School Days 7am-5pm. This was a Sunday night in the summer and DH and I didn't know if it was legal to park our car there overnight and through the next day.
There was a precinct about a half block away so DH walked to the precinct to ask if we were parking legally. Two officers walked back to the car with DH where I was waiting and they had no idea either! I tried calling 311 and they couldn't help me either. We wound up moving the car because it wasn't worth being towed. I never figured out the answer to that question!

If the police can't figure it out, how do they expect the rest of us to???

Right?! I think in the city, at least, the police officers are separate from the transit officers. But still!

Nah DH was NYPD and he wrote parking tickets all the time if the opportunity arose. Not meters, but illegal parking etc But if they didn't know, they probably wouldn't have wrote the ticket because they weren't even sure.

I think Summer is excluded, otherwise it would probably just say “weekdays”
