Half Days at School Next Week ?
We get a note home yesterday that next week they have a half day every single day. That's such great notice for working parents! This isn't something that's on the calendar or website either. Apparently they make the decision the week before school lets out

Interesting. It never was in our previous school district! I'm a little annoyed that even the lunch menu has the lunches listed for the entire week so obviously one would think they have school all week!

That stinks..we have it on our school calendar. You never really know what is going to be up for the older kids. But the younger ones have it on the calendar and they send reminders home the beginning of the month.

That stinks..we have it on our school calendar. You never really know what is going to be up for the older kids. But the younger ones have it on the calendar and they send reminders home the beginning of the month.
Well I know the older ones have half days because of exams, etc. This just threw me for a total loop because I had no idea they do this. Middle Country doesn't and I just wish someone would've said something sooner than yesterday. If it's something they do every year, they should put it on the darn calendar! I think I'm going to email the principal about letting new residents in on this little "secret"

The last week of school is always half day.
Not in Sachem. They go Mon-Thur-Thur. the last day of school-all full days.

Our kids have 1/2 days all week but it's on the district calendar. It's ridiculous that they would make this decision last minute. I'd complain!

We only have a half day the last day. Im a teacher so I wish we had half days but I can see how difficult that would be for parents.

I totally agree!!! You really would think that it would be on the school calendar. The last day of school in my district is Wednesday!!!! Ive never heard of the last day of school being a Wednesday!!!
