I am curious how far in advance you can schedule your child's well visits? Sick visits I can fortunately get same day...but I am looking to book my sons 15 month check up for September...and I just hung up with the office who told me the September schedule is not available yet. I have been calling for the past 2 weeks because they said it would be up.
It is August 10th...i dont get it. Is this normal???

I am able to make appointments for well visits when I leave the previous one. I mean, I just had my son's 12 month well visit and made the appointment for his 15 month when we left.

The office we use allows up to 3 months in advance.

In April, I scheduled my DS' July and December well visits. They always have you schedule the next appt when you're there.

My office allows up to 6 months in advance.... and with their schedules I always book the appts that way!

i can book when I leave but I usually just call a week or two in advance.

They only let me book 4 months in advance. I need to book far in advance because I've needed late appointments, now I can do a little earlier being that my new job will be closer.

that does seem very odd and very annoying to not have the september schedule available by august 10. i would be frustrated with that as well.

i just made an appt last week for my dd's well check for january.

they always tell me to call the month before, they should def have the sept schedule by now

I made my ds 12month appt before we left the office after his 9 month appt.

I book when I leave the office. So at this point, 6 months ahead.

My ped usually books well visits about 3 months out.

I'm still going monthly with DD (she's 3 months), so when I checkout for her current visit, I scheduled the one for the following month. I believe that they allow you to book 2-3 months in advance, if necessary.

It's at least 6 months because I am able to schedule the next well visit when I am there for one and he has well visits every 6 months now. I like it because I am able to schedule with the doctor I want to see at a time that works for me. I would not be happy if I couldn't make an appointment for September now.

I usually book well appointments within a month of when needed however, I remember last time around this year, the dr's office was very busy with back to school
appointments and stuff so they scheduled me a little bit later than I intended to take DS for the visit. So I would think your office would be able to accommodate a September appointment by now?

Now that my kids only need yearly visits, we must call 6 months in advance. You need to call immediately too if you need appointment in September bc it goes so quickly. I have to take both kids to school late the 2n week of school bc it's the only spot they had

I book the next visit before I leave the current one. So I guess a few months in advance is normal for me.

Sept is only a few weeks away and it seems odd you can't make an appt for then. Some people need to plan ahead to make room in their schedules!

My kids are now at the point where they only go once per year. When I go to their well visit, I make an appointment for their next one. At their first appointment as a newborn, they schedule all of the well visits for the first year. Then, at the 1 year appointment, we schedule the well visits for the next year. I like having everything scheduled at once especially since I can usually get the earliest appointments they have.

I don't know their exact cutoff, but I specifically remember scheduling well visits when my first was a newborn. In the beginning, you're going practically all the time, and we always scheduled the next visit before leaving the office. I remember when were leaving the 2 month visit (which we scheduled a month prior at the 1 month), we went to schedule the 4 month and were told it was to early and to call. So I'm thinking they probably do about a month in advance.

Let me guess, Garden City Pediatrics?

I have this same problem and it's getting more ridiculous each time! The schedule is never available beyond several weeks and then when it comes out it's a mad race to get an appt.

My dr is just like yours. It doesn't really bother me too much because they are great with sick visits.
