Scenic places on LI
So my stepson is really into photography and he's actually quite good at it. I want to take him someplace he can get some good shots. Can you guys recommend places on LI where I can take him?

Re: Scenic places on LI
Port Jeff (or any harbor area)
Any beach (Robert Moses area - get the bridge in the picture)
In Brooklyn, you can get nice views of Manhattan
I've seen people go near an airport and take cool shots of the planes coming in/leaving. Obviously go in a safe spot.
Along Ocean Parkway you can see a lot of wildlife. Don't be one the idiots that PARK in the driving lane to take pics (yes I've seen it).
Fire Island Lighthouse (Has beach scene, wildlife and lighthouse)

Some of the Pine Barrens trails and parks. Prosser Pines has some nice trails with really nice, tall pine trees.
Blydenburgh park, especially around the lake.

The Sands Point Preserve. There's a small fee to get in for non members, but it's so worth it.

Scenic places on LI
Sagamore Hill, there is a trail there that leads to a bay. Also, there is a private beach before entering Cove Neck where you can get some beautiful pictures. Its right across from Teddy Roosevelt's grave...

Scenic places on LI
The whole north strip from Port Jeff to Stony Brook - The Port Jeff Harbor, The Bates House, Avalon Park and duck pond, The harbor in Stony Brook by the Three Village Inn, Frank Melville Park. If he is into history, Setauket has a whole walking tour of the spy ring that was on LI and has some great photo ops.

The grounds of the Bryant Library in Roslyn and the water/land just adjacent to the buildings are stunning.
